Remembrance...

"But why is there so much beauty?" her voice chocked with such volatile emotions, she spun around with glistening eyes "do you ever wonder why?"

He was quiet, as usual, listening to the unspoken words, the volumes that remain hidden in the forcefulness of the way she speaks.

Suspended three thousands feet above the hustle and bustle of humanity, the mountainous silence rejoined their ensuing wordless conversation. She was aching at the wondrous sight below her. It was in the secrets that lay beyond her, the palpable silence that speaks to her very depths. In that moment, she recounted the many blessings bestowed unto her; a pregnant moment surrounded by the lusciousness without; the songs and chatter of a myriad wild creatures, the high peaks and low valleys; the barely deciphered intertwined streets nestling homes so far below, she had to strain her eyes to continue tracing this magnificent piece of art.

Fingering her own extremities, she remained puzzled. Either simply awed in adoration of all that is around her, or repulsed by her own very ungrateful nature; reflected in the din of merciless violence and unjustifiable cruelty. The frailties of all that is human encapsulated in one carelessly spoken word, or fractured heart bleeding forlornly in miserable agony.

The skies held wisps of clouds, arranging and rearranging to form shadow less images of the twilight soon to be ushered in. Buried deep within are the memories, curling fingertips of such blissful moments of joy; replicated by such anguish; now lying whimsically buried in fragments of her own dead former self.

A soft breeze lyrically blew birds humming round and round in endless circles below them. The sensation of floating freely captured her imagination, as she tried to trace that incredible scene into her mind; a moment encapsulating such perfect memories she yearned to capture it forever.

Words cannot begin to describe what it feels like to stare into pools of kindness; those eyes that can elicit poetry Shakespeare had no clue about; or the accidental brush of a hand that sparks the very soul. She peeked sideways at his stature, serene, a watchful gaze turning inwards into his own wandering travels.

Her hand sought his; fingertips locked in a delicate embrace…

The language of Mercy never ceases to amaze her. Its depth sings a soliloquy into infinite moments everyday when a multitude of people gaze up into the heavens above heaving secret delights. Its breadth remains unrecognized, for who can begin to count what characterizes Eternal Majesty itself?

“Alhamdullillah” she sighed softly nestling her head comfortably against the firmness of his shoulders.

The sun kept dipping its luscious golden fingers into the horizon, tantalizing them into her own golden embrace. The horizon bewitched them with the final showcase of brilliant crimson delights, and purplish hues entrancing subdued hearts.

Another day slowly disappeared, as they gathered up to offer their final prayers suspended in those sublime moments of grateful awareness; before heading back, ever so grudgingly into the polluted landscape that colors their own abode.

okaayyy, so thats where you disappear

Seriously tho, this is so beautiful and captures the essence of the mountains so well....makes me want to head for the hills myself....

In India ppl who "renounce" the world head for the Himalayas --the roof of the world. Some of the hillstations there are literally out of the world...the scent of fresh pine...logs crackling in the early morning chill... fresh apples hanging heavy from trees...a blue mist that smells of eucalyptus.....thanks for bringing all that back for me
