| [slm] By the grace of allah swt. i will be taking a vacation to Italy of all places next month. NOw I heard somewhere cant remember that there was this really big mosque in Rome? If so does anyone have the info on it? Like location etc? Anyone been there? Just curious salaams |

| [slm] Yes i've been there! It's really nice masha'allah, but when we went there for asr prayers there were only about ten people in the jammat, and so they didn't even open the main prayer hall so we prayed in a smaller room to the side (with me at the back of the room :D) so we didn't actually get to see the main prayer hall...it looked nice through the glass doors though! Also, we spoke to the imam after salaat (when in Rome, speak to the sudanese imam in Arabic!) and he was saying that the Muslims of Rome are asleep and so unfortunately they don't get many people at prayers. Masha'allah he was a really cool guy....insha'allah i pray that the state of Muslims there improves due to the efforts of those few! Anyway, you have to take the train/subway out to the moqsue...i can't remember the name of the station, but it's not far. Ask at the tourist info and they should be able to tell you...we just went to a train station, asked the woman at the ticket office if she spoke English, she said no but then in Italian asked, d'u want to go to the mosque! Sorted! if i remember any more about the directions, i'll let you know insha'allah. Rome's fantastic! |
