PREGNANCY Q & A & more! Q: Should I have a baby after 35? A: No, 35 children is enough. Q: I'm two months pregnant now. When will my baby move? A: With any luck, right after he finishes college. Q: What is the most reliable method to determine a baby's sex? A: Childbirth. Q: My wife is five months pregnant and so moody that sometimes she's borderline irrational. A: So what's your question? Q: My childbirth instructor says it's not pain I'll feel during labor, but pressure. Is she right? A: Yes, in the same way that a tornado might be called an air current. Q: When is the best time to get an epidural? A: Right after you find out you're pregnant. Q: Is there any reason I have to be in the delivery room while my wife is in labor? A: Not unless the word "alimony" means anything to you. Q: Is there anything I should avoid while recovering from childbirth? A: Yes, pregnancy. Q: Do I have to have a baby shower? A: Not if you change the baby's diaper very quickly. Q: Our baby was born last week. When will my wife begin to feel and act normal again? A: When the kids are in college. |

| [slm] According to my psychology teacher, a record breaking Mum had something like 60+ kids. No one known has managed to break that so far. Must have been pregnant every year of her life after pubety, and somehow survived. |

| Assalamu alaikum wr wb im a new sis here but i havent registered here yet, not cuz im embarassed, just havent had a chance. Anyways im pregnant and hav 3 questions if any1 can answer i will b reli grateful. 1) After deleivery should i ask for my placenta and bury it or is there no basis in the sunnah 2 bury it?? 2) What does it mean to dilate, how do i know i have dilated 2cm or 3cm, is that something we can do or is it only for the doctors?? 3) What excercises can be done during preganacy, its a bit late asking now though cuz im already 8months!! Please make dua 4 me that i can have this baby without any complications and that whatever it is , it is a good muslim. wassalam Amatullah |

Usually the baby comes out when you are dilated at 10. Many women go for a couple of weeks at 2 or 3. It is something the body does naturally. Doc's can give drugs to help it open, but most do not like to. Some Mid-wives will massage this, however i would think the uncomfortableness of this out weighs any advantages. Discuss it with her before delivery.[/i] 3) What excercises can be done during preganacy, its a bit late asking now though cuz im already 8months!! :-[[i]I am not a health care professional, so take my advice with that in mind... Walking is the very best excercise. And for those who are intending to get pregnant... inner thigh, stomach and back muscle strengthening should be your top priority![/i] :PNo question is dumb, but gotta admit there have been some that make me chuckle! |

Anyways something new is happening to me now, basically my stomach seems 2 b going low now, as in the bump, could it be the baby is ready to come out now and deleivery is near? When ur bump starts going down, if it is a sign labour is near, how much longer will my baby b? wassalam Amatullah |

Just wondering if anyone can tell me more fundo symphysis charts. its just i hav just plotted on this graph and my reading goes outside the shaded area but my doctor didnt say anything to imply something was wrong. jazak wassalam Amatullah |

| [wlm] Hmmm... are we being conned..... You are referring to your pregnant womb/uterous as a bump... and then use a word like fundo-symphysial height. yes... Labor will happen, but not immediately, and one sign is if your hump, I mean lump, drops..... How far off the charts are you talking? and how much did you gain and what size did the doc say? |
