as-salaam aleikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuhu,

here is something that might interest someone...

This is to let you know of a paid opportunity for young people to participate in Children of Abraham, an international interfaith project that gives young Muslims (aged 15-20) the chance to explore their religion with young Jews doing the same, to express themselves in a safe environment and to teach others and learn about the similarities and differences between these two peoples of Ahl-el-Kitab- which is so important in today's global climate. The project takes place on the Internet, so no need to travel, and uses photography and dialogue (also on the Net). Interns will take photographs that at the end of the summer will be compiled and published online as part of a drive for better understanding of faith. They will be paid US$400 for their participation.

I know that many of you have children or know of young people who would have so much to contribute to an opportunity like this- and it's a chance to make some summer cash learning and teaching about our religion which is so sadly misunderstood these days! Please spread the word to those who would be interested, and email me at childrenofabraham2004@yahoo.com for full details on the project and on how to apply. I'm happy to hear comments and questions.

Note that the deadline for applicants is formally May 21st, so hurry- but we will consider applicants after that time IF there is sufficient demand.

Many thanks!

Wal-salaam,

Maria Ali-Adib
Co-ordinator- Children of Abraham 2004
