Anyone heard of this tax?

Assalamu alaikum I have heard that during the time of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) there was a tax levied on goods brought to madina for trade - 1/10th of your wealth. Anyone know anything about this?

wlm, don't know the details about that.. but interesting to note in new york state we have a 8% sales tax lol
