[slm] sisters

I was gonna post this at the brother's corner, but thought sisters would be more helpful. So I want to buy my wife a present and I haven't done this before [well technically just once]. What do you suggest? Brothers' help is welcome too.

Occassion: no occasion, just like that  ;-)
Price range: $50-100  ;-)

my picks are:

1)  a cooler  (anyone can use another cooler)
2)  2 tickets to a basketball game
3) 2 tickets to a hockey game
4)  any new power tool
5-10)   see above

:-[(Momma Mod edited this line, it may seem offensive)

chocolates are good also, but only if she shares and I guess that goes to a the restaurant also.

So sweeeet....really no occasion? Hmmm? eh? *shrugs*

Ok.  Jannah?  I did not know that you were a romantic?

Mike?  Bro?  No one's asking you what you want for a gift.  However, a power tool...I am in need of a power saw...*makes note to get self a power saw*

But if you already haven't thought of something....how about... give her the day off.  Really....a weekend...just to herself.

Careful though...she might get used to it and ask for every year.  Which is not too much to ask.

Or Jannah's pick.  Most women are romantic like that. []

A maid for the day who will clean the oven , fridge, wash floors, bathroom and wash all the windows, scrub the house from top to bottom!

When the house is all sparkly... treat her to dinner...

ah.... this would be just wonderful

:-[FYI- This is only applicable for a 'just because I love you present'

Hehe the sisters have given you some good answers, I think, and mike... well mike seems to have given you a list for quite a tom-boy type of woman! ;D

Depends how romantic you want to be I guess...

Some women seem to like flowers a lot.  You could do the whole trail of rose-petals-leading-to-her-big-present thing.  Or put a rose through your teeth ( mind the thorns!) or you could burst out of a huge cake and sing #errrr... Happy errr... No Occassion to You!# (yeah people, that's right I watch waaay too much TV!) :P

If you can cook, make her a meal.  She might like that. And do candles.  Women love candles (so I hear  ::)).  Just in case you never cook, I meant for on the table.... candles on the table, not as a dish. :D

Also, does she like suprises, and games? If she does you could get her lots of little gifts, and then get a big box, fill it full of different coloured paper mache scrunched up, and hide the gifts in there.  She'll have to hunt and feel around for the gifts but it should be fun, like a lucky dip. :)

Good luck!

I like jannah's picnic idea and then with some nice essential oils a FOOT RUB..yeh..sounds good right about now...

one single perfect fragrant rose followed by a nice dinner

keep it romantic...unless she's the anti-mush type..:)

or take her out to the movies or theater..can still give the rose

u can go camping? ok guess most women wont go for that...

ok i dont have any other ideas right now..

oh u can make her a card ..yes make her one....hallmark isnt always necessary...

good luck either way...its the thought that counts..kudos to you for even wanting to express yourself like that...cool

peace

you should think about the type of person your wife is and so get something that would be a bit more personal to her.
so if she's an arty person you could get some islamic art/crafts

if she's like travelling or the outdoors, arrange a day trip somewhere nice

if she's girly, then most of the things jannah mentioned  ;)

i think most women appreciate it, even something small, just knowing that you put a lot of thought into it

hmm, just like that, eh?  *note to self on very suspicious behavior*

i like #1 on jannahs list, especially if its a just for being her gift. it doesnt have to be a tangible thing, so something like going to the beach for a bonfire or driving by the coast or a picnic atop a nice hill with a lake would be really wonderful, in my opinion.

*another note to self: make fiancee join this board*  ;)
