Value ones Religion, cultures and traditions

This has been a long time on my mind and I thought I would put it into words.
I would like to let people who are raised in a faith and / or raised with traditions and / or raised in a family with a pretty pure culture/ethnic background
HOW VERY LUCKY YOU ARE   :)

As I get older and having grandchildren I am wondering,
WHAT do I have to pass on ???

Seriously,
Our Families religious background is nothing majourly grounded.
We are such mixed mutt there is no heritage to pass on.
(We are English, French, Native American, Canadian Indian, Dutch and whatever else is mixed in)
And no traditions.
No one who has done anything great and when my 26 y/o did our family tree,
I found myself saying to him, (from his dad's and my side of the family)
Certainly you aren't going to tell her about this??? Are you???

I find myself feeling I need to, I have to do something major and fantastic so when I am dead my granddaugher and grandson and their childen can talk about how Grandma did this, so learn to:
Work hard for what you want
Be honest and caring and loving and kind to people
Never give up
Never say Never
Nothing is impossibe
And of course I hope they share my 2 most favorite sayings
1) GET TO WORK, there is plenty of time to sleep when you're dead  :D
2) They can't say NO if you don't ask  ;)
So to those who have a pretty pure or even 1/2 or 1/4 culture, ethnic background,
any family traditions, anything
Be proud, share it with the young ones in the family although they may roll their eyes  ::)
Consider yourself very lucky to have a heritage, traditions, elders who share family history. Cherish it. Hold dear to it as if it were gold (cause it truly is)
Cause having one is easier than having to make one.
Salaam

PS: Just in one of my weird thinking modes, but truly I wish I had more to pass on to generations to come.

all us humans have common ancestors - the prophet (as) Adam and his wife Eve (Hawwa), so our family trees all go back to them.

and all the accomplishments that have taken place in the world have been those of my cousins, whether they were the Egyptians building pyramids, or the Iraqis inventing the first electric cell, or the Red Indian astronomers of America, etc.

so I have no problem taking credit for these. :)

The fact that we are here, in one piece, with some sense of morality, is a great achievement by our families. :)

and if you are such a mixture of various tribes of humans, you share in all their past and cultures, provided it does not clash with Islam.

and as Muslim I find myself sharing the beliefs of the prophets (pbut) and their followers all through the ages. I suffer when I read of their suffering, and I rejoice at their triumph. So their history is mine, too.

Masha-Allah a rainbow of culture.  Rich in blood, pure of heart.  You can tell your grandchildren how you overcame many of these obsticles of beliefs.  I know I wouldn't roll my eyes in hearing about it. (don't roll your eyes at me now)

Anyways....it's true.  Br Timbuktu...the wise one knows (and that's not sarcasm)...Prophet Adam and Eve, Prophet Isa and Prophet Muhammed (PBUThem) and the rest of the world.  Our DNA maybe different here and there, but as humans, we've only got A, A-, A+, B, B-, B+, AB, and O blood type and you're talking since the creation of Prophet Adam (PBUH).  We're all one explainable gigantic dysfunctional family.

Now my culture and traditions...the things i could tell you, ooooh... people did way back then and then the story of my ancestors and how they became nomads....yeah...nothing to be proud of except for the fact that my current Muslim community now is steering away from culture and adhering strictly to religion.  Not yet, slowly but surely, insha-Allah.

My brothers and sisters...proud!!!

May Allah (SWT) Bless...

Ma-asalaamah...
