| [slm] Hi, I was just wondering about a new place to live in. I mean, I want to move to a different country when I am older but where should I move? I chose Australia. Maybe to live in Victoria or New South Wales. However, any one been there, or knows about living there, the cost, the life, and etc. I want to move there because it has a better climate and it is still multicultural. I would love to live in Australia. Any one have any ideas, thoughts about it there. :) [wlm] |

| Hi I am from Australia, New South Wales and grew up in Sydney. Cost of living there is quite low, it can vary from state to state. Queensland is cheapest for car and house insurance but salaries are a bit low in the state compared to Sydney and Melbourne. I haven't been home in a while and the taxing has changed. Depending on your salary you might pay around 25-30% income tax. Most Australians do enjoy a good quality of life, thank goodness we haven't adopted the fast lane of New York, London and Tokyo. We enjoy our sports and outdoor activities and most people tend to finish work around 6pm. Our summer months are very long, Spring starts around September and the warmer months stay at least up until May so winters are rather short but Melbourne is closer to the antarctic so winters can be quite cold in Melbourne. Both NSW and Victoria have beautiful coastlines but Sydney beaches are the best out of these two regions, best beaches are up north in Queensland but Queensland is what we call the Sunny state, winters are mild but summers especially between January and March can be very hot. Australia is very multi-cultural. There are muslim communities in the main cities of Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne. We have all walks of life and huge variety of food. I'm sorry, you have to be more specific as to what you want to know, I'm not sure if I'm being of any help. |
