yep! this is it. The mango season has arrived. It has been hot and dry, and the green, unripe, sour mango (kairee) has ripened to this sweet, wholesome, satisfying fruit.

The unripened one was used to make chutney and achaar.

drink some milk or lassi (whey) with mango.

O ye ex-IndoPakoBangladeshis who have exiled themselves to the modern world of the West, don't you wish you were here in this season?

Yes Br.timbuktu we all miss mango - the real mangoes.

Yesterday my husband bought some mangoes(I think they are mexican?) they look pretty good and tasty (but ofcourse not like Pakistan :) ) . My boys love mangoes, they even tried to eat the seed :)

mmmmmm....maaaangoooos.  I loooooove maaaangoooos.  My brother got a video of footage from back home (don't need to an IndoPakoBangladeshi to love mangos) and I saw this mango tree and I was like... :o...they are all over the place.  And bananas and oh oh oh durian trees with fresh durian.  Never had them fresh off a tree.  Yeah...we were all drooling.  The bro had to go and tell stories of how he and his freinds would go and climb the mango trees and just sit on the branches and enjoy them in the moonlight.  I so jealous...me no remember those days.

I remember swinging on vines in the backyard back home in NY, but that don't compare to maanggooos cause I always lose some piece of clothing doing so.  I once had to take my hijab off to cover the huge tear on my pants at my bu**, but no mangos.  When I go back home, the first thing I'm gonna do is climb a mango tree and then a durian tree.  Jazakh...for the mango madness.

Ma-asalaamah....

there are mangoes in some other parts of the world, but the ones in Jannah will be from Pakistan, I am sure :)

and about climbing trees, those were the days. - I remember climbing them at Chittagong. No big deal, though. The ones I climbed were easy, the branches were inclined at an easy angle. I marvelled at those who went up the coconut and beetlenut trees, and that too so fast!

what is "durian"?
