Ok, lets show these brothers a thing or two  ;D
Even if you are not married yet (thinking of that dream hubby)
What is the sweetest thing a hubby can do at ZERO cost.
Another words, no chocolate, no gold, has to be something  money can't buy  ;)

bro's take notes, they'll be a quiz next week  :D

[slm] Sis, Azizah,

Check resistance4ever's post on Can I put this in marriage contract?.

I would categorize this as one.

The sweetest ever thing he did for me was to massage my legs for 1 whole hour just cos I had cramps. Sighhh....

Same man who called me his jihad grrrrrrr

Hi All:

- Rub my feet

- put the right amount of sugar in my coffee (though he thinks 3 tablespoons is "extensive")

- read a book I've recommended

- watch Dr Phil with me without snorting or rolling his eyes. :)

Peace, Sparrow

A neck-shoulder-back massage would do it for me.

call me jaani and mean it ;)

well, another thing that i'd love to do is walk on the coast of the beach at night, or any body of water now that i think of it, so we can talk and he can tell me how he can see reflections of the stars and moon in my eyes.....

*ahhhhhh! i dunno when i became a romantic, but there it is*

Sr. Mona, this is  funny :)
Back to the orginal question

Being nice and caring (not just repectful) to my parents and siblings.
Telling me that "didnt know what he would have done if I werent his wife" (And I call him my jihad :) )

[slm]...

:-/ :'(Those are hilarious!  Might as well add…sit and gaze into each others eyes for hours…WITH THE LIGHTS TURNED OFF.  Ha ha ha.  Such romantics. :D  That's sweet though....

I’ve got good ones…get your pen and pad ready:

1. race to the top of the tree, a high tree, and who ever loses, gets to do the whole nine yards of yard work: mow lawn, landscaping, raking leaves, trimming bushes, water garden, etc.
2. put on some boxing gloves and box till someone goes down, same rules as professionals apply, and who ever loses, has to cook a 3 course meal.  (make sure you have plenty of ice first and don’t box in front of the kids, they’ll get freaked out about it.)
3. and last but not least, in the bathtub…….see who could last underwater the longest, and the loser gets to make the winner feel like a “boneless chicken” that’s deep tissue massage from head to toe.

OR

Read the Qur’an together.

Ma-assalaamah…..

smile!

i do that most of the time, specially when I make a mistake like making a mess on the dinner table, or having indelible ink on my clothes (all are now marked such).

I don't get a smile back on these (which is to say most) occassions  :(

but occassionally, when i have nothing to be sheepish about, and she has sat down with tea, and i smile at her, i do get a smile back.  :)

one thing a man or a woman can do that is very romantic is spray a nice smell in the bedroom and turn off all lights except a lamp and the trick is to put a stiff paper on top of the lamp (in the open circle at top) which has a nice word or two cut out. Like nur-hayati (you are the light of myl ife) and you have to cut it out small with a special cutter so that it shows big on the ceiling. If you cut it big, you won't be able to read it.  It is a nice surprise when s/he walks in the room!!!

I think I know Sister Kathy's reply to this one:
Wash the dishes, vaccuum the house, take the kids out for a day and let you have a day off.
Am I right am I right??
My answer: suggest going out on a walk.  IT doesn't even have to be near a beach or other body of water.  The mere fact of him suggesting it would be enough :D
Lil sista, what about this post made you want to get married?  It's all stuff we WISHED our hubbies would do. As you can see very few sisters are speaking from experience ;)

I don't know if this applies but...here it goes.  :)

1. Clean up the house.
2. Make a dinner she would like.
3. The area would have candles lit and fragances around it. Like perfume, etc.
4. Have smooth jazz playing, or classical music while eating.
5. Eat dinner and ask her for a dance.
7. Dance softly and look into her eyes and smile.

Ugh.. why do I know all these things?  ::)

[wlm]

Also you can sing to her, while the music plays.....

Wa Alaikum Assalaam Wa Rahmatullahi Wa Barakatuh..

awwwwww! All of the things mentioned are *so* sweet. My eyes are tearing up just reading them! (or maybe it's just because I've broken almost every rule on my "do not do while wearing contacts" list today)  ;)

But anyways....all of those mentioned, and some sincere and genuine gratitude for everything the wife does, sounds good to me. And I agree with the sis who said smiling. Smiles are so pretty subhanAllah.  :) And why not get some charity deeds while you're at it, eh? :)  :)  :)  :)  :)
