Trademark laws?

[slm] Are there any lawyers here that know about trademark laws?   The question is pretty simple, but legal opinion is needed.   If a website uses a phrase in its content, not in its name, and does not sell or market anything related to this phrase, can a trademark owner of a product with that name sue the website?  There has been a letter from the trademark owner to the website and a time limit has been issued for ceasing to use the "phrase".
