World Peace project for children

Assalamu Alikum

I will be working in a summer school for children where for a week kids learn about Islam in their school holidays.  This summer the theme is 'World Peace' and we are hoping to get children who are asylum seekers/refugees intergrated into the school,  as well as the local kids.  The age group of the girls will be from 8-15yrs old.

I was really looking for ideas on how to take the 'world peace' theme forward,... so far I've thought about:

- how life varies for people in different countries and how is it similar (Islamic way of living)
- learn about Palestine/Israel conflict
- learn Nasheed -'Sing children of the World'
- learn about the Ansar in Medina and how they treated their fellow Muslims
- draw pictures of how the world would look like with peace
- media and Islam ( for the older children)
- outing to imigration/detention centre (for the older children)

I'm finding it more difficult to think of things for the younger kids to do, any suggestions or resources would be greatly appreciated.

Jazakallah Kair  :-)

I really hope this doesn't sound silly.
You have a week right?
Is is a week long class?
Is is all day or just a couple hours?
I have a few ideas so if you can answer the above questions.

One idea: PEACE CHAIN/JOINING OF HANDS
How about for part of the time each day the girls
make kind of like a paper doll, each pick a country
and make a paper doll representing that country.
Tell the girls while they are making theirs say a little prayer,
for the people and children in that country and for peace.
When each is done (staple) join each doll to another as if joining hands.
If you have 5 to 10 girls going one each a day
By weeks end your group will have prayed for and joined
25 to 50 countries  :)
Just join the new ones each day and hang up on the wall and watch it grow.
One can make a little doll in as little as 20 minutes or you can take longer as needed. For Muslim countries the girls can cut out and paste on Hijabs  :-)
They can do it as simply or as detailed as they want.
Glue and glitter go a long way as do glye sticks.
I hope this doesn't cound silly.
I have other ideas if you want them.
This project covers prayer for peace, joining of nations for peace and is
art and crafty (fun)

Now if this is not Islamically correct due to no pictures/images, etc you can have them make them with no faces (eyes, nose, mouth, etc)
Or one can make star shapes if that is allowed for each country.
And you can still join the stars together for a chain.

Or as a simular idea a chain of Quran verses that have a verse to do with peace and / or how we are told to treat one another / family /visitors/ strangers, etc.
Each can write their verse in a paper star or doll for the chain.

If time is short do your homework prior to this week. Look up as many verses you can, write the refer number to the verse or the whole verse out (one on a seperate piece of paper and put them in a bowl for each girl to pick on out, if time does not permit everyone to look them up during the class.
