| Dear Sir/Madam; I am taking a college course and we saw the movie "Osama", concerning the Taliban in Afghanistan. In one scene, they are trying to determine if a girl, dressed like a boy, is actually a girl. Someone says, Let's check. Another individual says that you can not do that, "Not even her father can do that" Can you please inform me, as to why they would say this, and where is it forbidden to check ones sex, to try and prove someone's identy. | I saw that movie... I think it's a matter of modesty.. it wouldn't be right for fathers to be looking at their daughters private areas!! |

| If you were in the position of that girl would you let be checked ? would you let your father see your private area even if you are male ?then imagine a girl in this situation. |

| I don't know the ruling on checking someone's sex for identity. I suggest you ask this to scholars at [url]www.sunnipath.com[/url] That said, there isn't many occasions where someone has to check another person's downstairs to figure their sex. And, if it does come to that, it's extremely humiliating, to both a male and a female. I personally wouldn't allow it without a fight. |

| [slm] what if the shoe is on the other foot so to speak. That is, what if one of the ladies hanging around with all the women seems a little on the butch side and there are just a lot of physical inconsistancies? How would one deal with that? |
