| slm, hey does anyone know where people buy those indian flower necklace thingies.. i've been looking everywhere... if anyone knows or has some ideas let me know asap inshallah!!! |

| [slm] Do you guys have big indian/pakistani areas where you live? I know in Toronto for my sister's wedding, there was a store that specialized in those...it was pretty expensive though, and we didn't know about it, until we asked the wedding photographer :D Back n TO, they also had these desi bridal shows (lasted like a weekend), where you could get all this information. If you guys have something like that out where you live, they usually have an official website with names of sponsors, etc. Good luck, inshaAllah. Wasalaam. |

| [slm] do you need a lot of them? I've made them myself in the past...cheaper and quite easy, if you have the time. and they last for a few days as long as you keep them cool and sprinkle some water on them. You just need to make sure you choose flowers that don't fall apart when you take the stem off. I'm not sure what flowers they use in India, but i used carnations and roses i think..U could also use jasmine for fragrance. | [wlm] aaaaaaahhhhhh are u guys crazy ;) first of all we live in podunk boonies justone.. we don't got no desi stores like that let alone an AREA :P and siddiqui and tree there is no wayyy i can fit in necklace making with all the 56048340840238 other things we have to do and worry about... if i ever say i want a big wedding someone just shoot me... but if anyone knows of a website or store i could call and order em let me know inshallah...even from NYC cause theres some ppl coming from there that could bring them, but at this point if we can't find em it's ok jazakamullahu khairan.. *wedding planner extraordinaire* |

| Assalamo elikuim Jannah please do take a big break after the wedding :) As tree and bro.siddiqui mentioned, it will be cheaper to make them(thats what we did for my brother's wedding, also we bought the bride's flower bangles adn earing from Berkley(they have a big Pakistani/Indian shop area)) I am sure you can order them somewhere in Jackson heights- sorry dont know of any shop there, but how about you call one of the shop and ask them, I am sure they will have some idea :) Best of luck:) and please do remember to take some rest before the functions otherwise you wont be able to enjoy them :) Wasalam tq |

| [slm] a friend is getting hers from this place..which is doing her hindu ceremony canaopy... http://www.elegant-affairs.com/ you can look at the contacts page for contacts:) jai mala is the name of the neck thing anyhow...i guess its a traditional indian thingie....used mostly in hindu wedding ceremonies..but for muslim weddings used just to decorate the neck:) more options to come shortly....in queens that is... peace |

| [slm] I would have offered my services too, if I wasn't on the other end of the Atlantic (heh).. But you know what? That shipping thing isn't looking too off...how many do you need anyway? Like for the entire baraat or just the groom and his parents or something? It would be a lot of fun to do it yourself...but, I know how it is...both my siblings got married on two different continents, and it was hectic in either case... But have fun, inshaAllah!!! | [slm] seems my fourth cousin who just got married ..got hers in queens..although she didnt get it..someone got it for her...sigh..and she cant find the info ...so she said anywhere in liberty..richmond hill queens or jackson heights..that if you were to walk around you can see the variety and choose...sigh...since you dont have the means to go walking around for no flower garland! hehe well I tried. just make it..cant be that hard..some carnations b/c they are hardy threaded onto some strong string..closely bound together... :) or come to nyc good luck girl..weddings are way too difficult to plan. enjoy each moment. peace n love |

| [slm] At the place I work, anytime someone makes a good suggestion (or any suggestion), that person(s) gets volunteered with doing the task. So siddiqqi and tree, get a move on it, you have less then 2 weeks to go. ;) |
