References for New Muslims?

[slm], everyone

This may have been a topic a while back, but if you could help, that would be great, and Jazaak Allahu khayran.

What are some good references (books, etc) for new muslims? I was thinking of compiling folders/packets.
For any revert brothers/sisters, what's the best reference of you have used/read? If any of you have worked on something like this before (a new muslim packet/folder), what have you included?

Jazaakum Allahu khayran!  :)

Glad to see you back sr. Sofia.  May Allah bless your marriage, ameen.

About the packet, I am just brainstorming here:

*I think including a small dua book (with arabic and english) in the packet would be very helpful.  The Fortification of the Muslim (by Sa'eed Al-Qahtani) is a good one.

*A small tafseer with clear terminology (Thomas Cleary, Pickthal, Yusuf Ali)

*the book the idiot's guide to islam

*a nice prayer sheet, and a sibha (the beads thingy)

*A folder with:
  -A list of useful websites (www.sultan.org, al-islam.com, muslimheritage.com, jannah.org, islamonline.net, islamicity.com)

-contact numbers within the community - imam's number, that of a group of sisters/brothers who can volunteer to answer questions, or just listen to worries

-prayer times, qibla directions ( a little athan clock would be cool too).

-list of masajid, islamic centres within county/state

*You can also include a (laminated?) sheet of frequently used Arabic terms and what their meaning is (especially the ones that imams use during friday sermon and usually forget to translate), for example:
- subhana Allah, masha' Allah, a'othu billah, bismillah, alhamdolellah, etc
- imam, khateeb, khaleefah, walee, ameer
- deen
- dunya, akhira
- jannah , jahannam
- rasool, nabi
- namaz (this is not arabic, but it is frequently used)
- dua, salah, thikr

Ok, that's is probably enough to fill a tote bag!

Take care
wassalam

Qur'an with transliteration.
A book on how to pray
Basic Dua booklet
Book on seerah

That's all I can think of for now :)

as-salaamu alaikum

How about also adding a CD with various multi-media resources on it, e.g. the flash demos from islamwy.com which illustrate how to pray and make wudu? And how about MP3s of Imam Husary (or another slow reciter) reciting essential surahsl ike al-Fatiha?

Is there a web site out there that has the complete 5 salats written, English and Arabic?

Not one with videos... one I can just copy paste and hand out. One they can follow while praying?

One thing I just wish a person would do is a tape recording of the 5 salats, one after another, saying the silent part outloud, that a new sis can just hit play and stop.
