I think your problem is  because you  are not setting the alarm  in your heart .You can wake up if you take it seriously, But any way put the alarm far from your bed ,where your hand cant reach ,this can so easily solve your problem INSHA-ALLAH . :)

First of all, mashallah that you are making endeavours to wake for fajr.  Inshallah, may Allah make you successful in that endeavour.

Secondly, some tips that may help:

Like Brother Salem says put the alarm clock far from your bed, so you have to get up and walk to turn it off.

Go immediately to do wudu, and use cold water! This will stir you into action, inshallah  ;)

Try not to sleep too late.  If you're very tired you'll find it harder to wake up.

Hope that helps, and remember its difficult at first, but once you get into the habit of it, inshallah it will feel natural to wake before dawn.

Drink lots and lots of water before you go to sleep. Nature will handle the rest and you'll be all set to do your wudu. Please note, this process may require a dash of fine tuning. But is a nice and relieving way to start the day.

Well, you just need to realize that salah is obligatory and we will be punished for missing salah without any valid excuse.
Also, if I remember correctly it says in a hadith that salah is the first thing we will be asked about on the Day of Judgement.
Here is something I recently read about Salah:

PAINFUL TORMENT AT THE TIME OF DEATH, IN GRAVE, ON THE DAY OF JUDGEMENT AND IN HELL. A hadith shareef, quoted in the book 'Qurratul'uyun,' declares, "If a person does not perform salaat though he has no good excuse, Allah ta'ala will give him fifteen kind of punishments. Six of them will come in the world, three will come at the time of death, three will come in the grave, and three will come when rising from the grave. The six plagues in the world are:

1-Person who does not perform salaat will not have barakat {blessings} in his life.
2-He will not have the beauty, the lovable ness peculiar to those who are loved by Allah ta'ala.
3-He will not be given reward for any good he does.
4-His supplications (duas) will not be accepted.
5-No one will like him.
6-Blessings that (other) Muslims invoked on him will do him no good.

Kinds of torment he will suffer when dying are:
1-He will expire in an abhorrent, unsightly, repugnant manner.
2-He will die hungry.
3-Much water as he may have, he will die with painful thirst.

Kind of torment he will suffer in the grave are:
1-The grave will squeeze him. His bone will intertwine.
2-His grave will be filled with fire, which will scorch him day and night.
3-Allah ta'ala will send him a huge snake to his grave. It is not like terrestrial serpents. It will sting him at every prayer time each day. It will never leave him alone any moment.

Kinds of torment he will suffer after rising are:
1-Angels of torment that will drag him to hell will never leave him alone.
2-Allah ta'ala will meet him with wrath.
3-His accounts will be settled in a very vehement manner, and he will be flung into hell. (May Allah save us?)

May Allah guide you.
Hope that helps. :)

A shaykh I know told us that a good way to get yourself awake for fajr is to have a group of friends who will all call each other AFTER fajr prayer and celebrate the reward they inshallah have just earned by waking up for fajr.  If you didn't wake up, and 5 people call you so ecstatic after fajr, then you will inshallah wake up the next day.

Of course this is assuming you all do not pray at the same masjid.

I haven't tried it yet, but it sounds like a good way for Muslims to keep each other on their deen.

Wassalaam,
Sam

One thing that I read on this board and that stuck was someone said if your father was to come in and ask you to get up, or if he was to call you from the other room, you wouldn't hesitate in getting up and attending to him; yet it is Allah, our creator who calls out to us each morning and we ignore him? What is a mere human compared to Allah, the creator of all?

This got me feeling really guilty and I spent many mornings lying in bed feeling really guilty until I got up and made fajr because I couldn't sleep again with the guilty feeling.

Hope this helps - all credit is due to the original poster, who I don't know is.

Mashallah Eleanor, I remember a few years ago you saying you were a "sleep lover"; Inshallah you've now become a fajr lover.

Nida, do you have a reference to authentic hadith about what you were saying?

Multiple alarms....people ask me why i have so many alarm clocks....i don't know why the reason isn't obvious to them.   And each of my alarm clocks has more than one alarm.  E.g. the alarm begins with the radio or cd player coming on -- and then 20 minutes later the buzzer comes on.

If you go to sleep at odd times, and especially if you live in the north, where isha starts around 11pm (assuming you don't follow an opinion about combining ishaa and maghrib) it can be real hard to wake up for fajr at 4 am.  That's why you need at least 2 alarm clocks, each with multiple alarms....

I know so many people who wish they could wake up for fajr.  But they have only one alarm!  But if they have to wake up to catch a flight or be at work for a special meeting at 6am -- then suddenly they find new ways to wake up (multiple alarms, family calling on the phone,..., etc.)

best wishes,
