| [slm] all:) Need help...any ideas for a Hijaabed 1940's French outfit? Am looking for something which could have been worn by a socialite french woman in the 1940's, but at the same time be something that conforms to our dress code? Oh, and I am not looking to buy *much* new stuff...so I basically need some help converting anything I *might* have in my wardrobe (or my mom/sisters/friends wardrobes ;) ) to a 1940's outfit... I am so not fashion conscious in 2004 ::) I dont know how I am expected to be fashion conscious for the 1940's... Will be visiting an arty friend of mine this weekend..maybe she has some ideas.. | [wlm] did they wear hats at that time?? maybe you could incorporate that into the outfit and wear a same colored scarf... also there was a time where the big movie stars used to wear those little scarves and big sun glasses, so hijab was the fashion! |
