Trip cut chort

The clutch on my car is going out.
So my trip and travels are cut short.
I cannot believe how much a clutch costs, I was quoted
nearly $600.    :o
Anyway I am back on the west coast.
Was able to drive back as it does well on the
freeway when you don't have to shift  ::)
This car is on;y 3 yrs old and I have put over 80,000 miles on it.
Is 80,000 miles to soon for needing a clutch?
I was curious is this is normal. All I am getting from the dealership is
that it depends upon ones driving.
Any mechanically knowledgable brothers on the borad?
Is 80,000 average or to soon or good?

[slm]Sister Azizah,

I think that it does depending on your driving skills.  I first learned to drive on a car with a clutch and within a year my parents had to replace the clutch.    ;D
