Uncovered girl hypocrite?

Dear sisters and brothers,
I am revert to Islam from 5-6 years. I do my best to learn our religion, I pray and fast,
I pay zakat and sadaka. The problem is I still do not have the strength to wear Hijab. my
question to you is:do you think that a woman which reverted to Islam from years and still
is uncovered is a hipocrite? Please let me know what you think honestly. And do you still
find them to be your sisters in Islam, i mean in your heart and mind. I am nowhere and
nobody-not muslima because of my looks and not non-muslima because of my belief. I just
want to know what is your opinion of sisters like me. Thanks.

Of course I still consider a girl who doesn't cover my sister in Islam :) I deeply and sincerely hope that no one has ever suggested otherwise to you.

There are sisters who cover who have black hearts and don't know the first thing about the spirit of Islam.  In the end it's all between you and Allah.

I do know sisters who don't cover and sometimes I find myself wishing they would so there will be more of an obvious Muslim prescence here. Also I like to see others that look like me :) Besides this, I try not to judge; it's all by the will of Allah.

I have seen woman who have such strong faith..but they don't cover, and its also true vice versa.
Sister, you should take it one step at a time.Pray to Allah, sis. May Allah guide you in the straight path with imaan and may He give you the strength to overcome the obstacles you face.

I wish it was so easy, that the uncovered were hypocrites and the covered were not, but its all about how you act. there's an old addage in horsemanship, the bit does not control the horse but it is his perception of it. so it is similar though maybe not a good analogy that a scarf does not create a modest woman, but it does suport her modesty that already exists. any horse can get off the bit and any woman can lose modesty no matter how covered she is.

wlm,

sister each one of us has some nifaq (hypocrisy). sometimes we do not pray, sometimes we do not go to jumah, sometimes we do not do other things that we know are fard. each of us is struggling. ma'shallah you are doing so well so far. i have no doubt over time Allah will strengthen you enough to be able to do hijab. please don't consider yourself a hypocrite as this is the worst category of people, even worse than the one who rejects faith. you are definitely a muslimah and our sister in islam... also i consider you to be a mujahidah.. someone who is struggling in the deen :)

please learn some more about hijab from other sisters and read more about it, you can check out jannah.org/sisters perhaps more knowledge will help you to understand what is hindering you from completing this fard and it will help increase your iman and love of islam. everything else comes naturally inshaAllah

may Allah bless and guide you,

I agree with the other sisters and just wanted to add that if and when you decide to Hijab, PLEASE do it because YOU want to do it and not becuase it is EXPECTED of you.  Also, you must understand for yourself why it is important to you.  Otherwise it would be be basically hipocracy, which is the very thing you are trying to avoid, Insha Allah.  May Allah SWT make this easy for you, Ameen.  :-)

I echo what Sis bismillah said above and agree with the wonderful advises you have received from the others too.

no, it is not Nifaq.

The eemaan is weak, and we all are guilty of it. Jannah has pointed out a few examples.

The most important thing is to hold on to the belief, and add our 3amaal (actions) to it. In a society where Islam is practiced more closely, you would find it easier to practice it yourself.

When you are ready, when you have developed the eemaan in your heart to a stronger position, you may be able to live according to Islam.

Don't think of yourself as a hypocrite.

sis, there are a lot of good deeds that are not done because of weakness of iman, not necessarily because you are a hypocrite.  If you're a hypocrite because of your weakness in iman then I'm a hypocrite too.  A positive thing is that you are approaching the situation with some humility before Allah and acknowledging your shortcoming to Allah.  Iman will provide you the motivation to do the obligations that are enjoined and to leave that which is forbidden, so try to build that incrementally and try to gain more knowledge through Quran by reading it and pondering it.  By gradually becoming more conscientious of Allah, it will matter less and less what other people are saying about you until ultimately those people become irrelevant.  One thing that helps me in similar periods of weakness when I'm scared what others might say or do is to remember everything that Allah has done for me and how little those people have done for me, and when I'm in a time of dire need it will be Allah I will turn to when everyone turns their back on me.  Then I ask myself why I should care about people when they care so little about me?  On a personal note as far as hijab goes when I see a Muslima in a public setting, I admire her strength and iman & it immediately identifies her as your sister in Islam.  Without hijab, one may not know that you're a Muslim.  It may help to also remember that Allah never imposes something on His slaves that is not beneficial for them.  May Allah give all of us the strength to worship Him and stay on the right path.
