| [i]My precious sense of rightness Is sometimes so naive So that which I imagine Is that which I believe...[/i] I gaze at the silken thread of the spider as it spins its intricate lattice, drawing out so gently, so purposefully, reel after reel, according to the Divine plan, Which will see to it that you end precisely where you are meant to, as I, as humanity, as jinn...consummatum est. For life never spins out of control save when man begins to leave bits of himself scattered over the landscape of his life, like a child spreading its belongings haphazardly, inconsiderately over the house. Bad habits not conquered, wronged people not recompensed, false deities not crushed into the darkness whence they came and everywhere, but everywhere, precious moments wasted, repentance put off “just until tomorrow...” …or tomorrow... ...or tomorrow... ...while the shayateen continue to fill the heart with corruption, more distractions from prayer. How then can one expect to taste the sweetness of faith, which is obedience of heart and mind, body and soul, to the Irresistable, besides Whom there is nothing worthy of adoration? The inks of the Pen have dried, the scrolls are folded up, Allah knows what will be, whether or not we toy with delusions for now. Consummatum est. |
