Is the title too harsh? |

[slm] I need some help: I am writing an article, which I have tentatively called "Our children: Lut and Uzza"...it deals with how Muslim parents interact with their Muslim children today, mutual disregard for rights and duties, "worshipping" kids and placing them even above the laws of Allah swt. So my sis thinks the title is too harsh! Since I really think that a lot of what I wrote shows the relationship to be somewhat shirki-ish, she still thinks that I should name it something else, not naming Muslim kids in the same light as the Pre-Islamic idols of Makka. I agree somewhat, that yes, it sounds real bad. Ok, so pointless post I guess, writing it down here made my mind up for me. Salam Shahida |

[slm] Correct me if I am wrong. I thought the idol was called Al Lat, not Lut. I thought Lut was the Prophet of Islam (peace be upon him) mentioned in Surat alLut. Wassalaam, Saam |

[slm] It's a great title, (with noted correction) if the article is about worshipping your children. However, it does make me uncomfortable. Especially the word 'Our' & Children with idol names. See if you can come up with another title with such a thought provoking title. It is an excellent subject. Will you please post or send it to me? |

[slm] Thanks...Lat, yeah, that's what I meant, thanks Bro Saam. And yes LUT is the Prophet mentioned in the Quraan, that you thought he was. Sorry about the typo ;) Momma Mod, I will give it some more thought, and send you the completed article. InshaAllah. JazakumAllah Salam Shahida |
