| Salaam walaikum wa rahmatullah, May Allah bless you for all the great service you are doing for the Ummah. I needed some help with respect to Dawah purposes. Basically I recall reading in the Koran a verse about how hypocrites who think building mosques will save them are in a fallacy, and another verse which says that it is better to say some polite words rather than give material help only to remind the person about the help coupled with showing off to the society. My problem is that I cannot recall exactly in which Surah I read this verse. If anyone could kindly help me locate that, I will really appreciate it. Thank you very much for you help. May Allah guide us and strengthen our faith. |

| Wa'alaikum Assalam wa Rahmatullah, Verses from Surah Al-Taubah ( Chapter 9): Verse # 17: It is not for the Mushrikun (polytheists, idolaters, pagans, disbelievers in the Oneness of Allah), to maintain the Mosques of Allah (i.e. to pray and worship Allah therein, to look after their cleanliness and their building, etc.), while they witness against their ownselves of disbelief. The works of such are in vain and in Fire shall they abide. Verse #18: The Mosques of Allah shall be maintained only by those who believe in Allah and the Last Day; perform As-Salat (Iqamat-as-Salat), and give Zakat and fear none but Allah. It is they who are expected to be on true guidance. Wassalam. |
