| Salaam one and all! Asia here, a 20 year old lass living in bonny ol' England. I started searching for online muslim communities a while back, and am soo excited to have found this one ^_^ I'm hoping to stay as active as possible, and meet as many muslims as I can ~__^ A visual communication student at university, all I need is the knowledge of Islam to communicate to the rest of the world ^^;;; Salaam again! ( can you tell I'm excited?) |

| [wlm] yes, this is a very nice, exciting community, and Jannah and the others have worked very hard to make and keep it that way. lovely, good old England! When I lived there, which was 26-27 yeras ago, I hated the weather, but it was green, the people were calm, although skinheads had made their appearance, and football hooliganism seemed to be at its peak. what are the people like today? what University do you go to? I went to Birmingham University. |

| Well.. I used to live in Scotland .. the people there are generally friendlier.. England however, is a bit more .. serious shall we say? ~__^ I totally agree to the weather claim! I sometimes feel like painting the windows a nice clear blue and dot a few birds here and there to make it look cheerful! .. and keep the act up till I have to walk out the door o.o Why .. Birmingham Uni is right down the road from me. Alas, I don't go there ( it doesn't do my course choice) Thanks for the welcomes *curtsies* Inshaallah I'll be up to the standard |

| [slm] Welcome to the board, its a great community however we are very limited in what we can say, no free speech here my dear sister. Also, no courtsies, its a form of bowing, and we only bow to Allah (swt)! Anyway Scotland is great but its freezing, looks beautiful, but sure doesnt feel beautiful. | resistance- first of all, let me congratulate you on pinning down something I have failed to many many times! I'm not sure what it WAS about scotland that .. irritated (may not be exactly the right word here, but hey, it'll do ^^) me, but *shakes hands* that was an accurate description! *looking* beautiful certainly doesn't mean something *feels* beautiful! | *laughs* Well... they are emoticons that are similar in their expressions to the way cartoons are drawn. For example: ~__^ is a wink ^__^ - is just a smile ( eyes half closed in contentment :p) ^^;;; is a way of showing I'm smiling but feeling a bit apprehensive. Usually, a smile when one is slightly embarrassed/uneasy . the little : ;;; are supposed to be sweatdrops :p In fact, I'll give you a wee full-blown lesson entitled: How to Decode Asia! erm.. or something like that. Other *emoticons* I may use may include: :3 the 2 dots are eyes, and the 3 denotes a mouth - I would use that when I think something's cute. >.> , <.< and >_< I will use if Something is eitehr embarrassing/shocking or .. stupid ( when all of these things apply to me) . For example I can write : Argh! my cat just peed on the floor! then : >__< . This face would mean I'm dreading cleaning it etc What else have I not covered? .. hmm.. I'm sure you can just ask me if you continue to feel puzzled by the style I use to communicate ^-^ ( very happy and cute face) |
