My Grandson has arrived  :)
And he is soooo beautiful.
He arrived this morning (the 8th) at 5:51 am
and weighs 7 lbs 13 oz.
He looks so much like my son and it was so moving to see how
protective and tender my son already is with his son.
Mother and baby are doing well.
The labor was less than 12 hours and she looks wonderful, hard to tell she had a baby today.

Congratulations!!
Aren't newborn babies the most beautiful things on earth?

And Less Than 12 hours??
Is that the norm??
God, that sounds horrible...

I don't know if there is a 'normal' with child birth.
My first son from start to finish (labor and delivery) was 5 hours.
My youngest who just had this baby boy was approx 10 hours.
(which ticked me off  :D cause I was told each child arrives soner than the last, labor shortens and he double times his brother  :)  )
So when you hear stories of 24 and 48 hour labors one begins to wonder.

What surprised me is we visited when he was approx 10 hours old and my daughter-in-law looked no worse for ware, was hard to believe she had just had a baby.

My son, he is soooooooo happy and already so tender with this baby.

BTW his name is Declan which is Irish for ...full of goodness
Pronounced like Deck    lan

Congratulations - you're a grandma again  :-*

May Allah swt keep him safe and healthy - his name has a lovely meaning too!  You must be soooo glad that he's finally here - you were looking forward to it so much.

As to 12 hr labour - I've heard from friends of mine who've had their first kids in the last few months that 12 hrs is a short labour :o

I think it is kind of cool, one son had a daughter (last year) and
now my youngest son has a boy this year. This way it keeps both of them
special for a little while longer till another one is born  :D

Welllll, all are special, but maybe you know what I mean  :D ;)

Thank you all for your good wishes and duas.
He is doing well and at home in the loving
arms of his mommy and daddy.
I have a dinasaur pc and besides my son would not appreciate
me posting a public pic, but
if any of you sisters want to see him private message me and I'll
email you a pic.
