| Can anyone tell me the meanings to any of the following names which I am under the inpression are Arabian names. Mon Sharaf Hafiz Bint Bataa (isn't Bint-daughter of) Shaikh Al Badi Moniet what is El? Maar Bataa Nawaf Nazeer Halima (as in Ansata ibn Halima) amalaa Korima Rashad Bint Maisa El Saghira I am just curious of their meanings. |

| [slm] i know the meanings for some of them only btw, where did you read about them? some of them sound pretty bedouin. Take care Mona Mon Sharaf Hafiz ----------------- Sharaf = dignity, Hafiz = keeper. don't know "Mon" Bint Bataa (isn't Bint-daughter of) - bint= daughter, bataa sounds like an old proper name Shaikh Al Badi -------------------Master of Destert Moniet ---------------------------??wrong spelling?? if it is "monia" then it means "wish" what is El? ----------------------"El" or "Al" is an article meaning "the" Maar Bataa Nawaf -------------------------- this is a proper masculine name. i don't think it has a meaning Nazeer Halima (as in Ansata ibn Halima) -- Halima (pronouced ha-lee-ma) means "patient", and this is feminine - "haleem" is the masculine name. amalaa Korima--------------------------- Karima (pronouced ka-ree-ma)means "generous" , also feminine Rashad Bint Maisa El Saghira -------------bint =daughter, Maisa is a feminine name, el saghira= the small |

| COOL!!!!! Thanks Sis :-) These are the names on my new Egyptian Arab Mares pedigr. Many are imports. (Not from US) and now there are ao many lines of Arabian horses. Russian, Polish, Straight Egyptian which is my mare. The Crabbet and Davenport. Thank you for your help. Nice to see what others names her ansestors. :)Oh and the first name I listed is my mares name. |
