| [slm] FILM ABOUT PROPHET MUHAMMAD TO OPEN IN THEATERS Nationwide release scheduled for holiday marking end of Ramadan fast heres the link for more info: http://www.finemediagroup.com/index.cfm?sublink=fmg (WASHINGTON, D.C., 10/5/04) - On Tuesday, October 12, Fine Media Group will hold a news conference in Washington, D.C., toannounce the nationwide theatrical release of a feature-length animated film that chronicles the early life and teachings of Islam's Prophet Muhammad. Release of "Muhammad: The Last Prophet" is scheduled to coincide with Eid ul-Fitr, the holiday marking the end of the Islamic fast of Ramadan. The 90-minute film, produced by the creators of animated classics such as "The King and I" and "The Fox and the Hound" for Badr International, will be shown in theaters in 37 U.S. and Canadian cities for one week beginning November 14. (SEE: link/. Because of Islamic traditions prohibiting the visual representation of religious figures, no images of the Prophet Muhammad appear in the film.) "This is an exciting opportunity for parents and children of all faiths to learn more about an historic figure like Prophet Muhammad and events that shaped today's world," said CAIR Executive Director Nihad Awad. "The release of this film in theaters also offers a chance to interact with American Muslims in a learning environment." Awad also urged Muslims to purchase tickets for distribution to their friends and neighbors. |

| Yeah, I think all of us should try to publicize the release of this movie about Rasulullah (s) as much as we can. Please tell your friends, family, and acquiantances about it and go see it!!! :) This is a good thing, especially for kids. Insh'Allah, we should try our best to make it a success! Ma'a Salaam |

| Finally..Hollywood is doing something right. The Christians had "The Passion" I hope this film will chronicle the life accurately of Muhammad "Peace unto him" His life and tribulations were remarkable and he brought the gift of Islam to many. I hope this film educates other faiths and show the world that Islam is a peaceful religion and the message he delivered then is what we desperately need the non-believers to see. | I saw the film in Ft Lauderdale Florida last night.I was disappointed that the theatre did not post it on it's marquee. I had to ask the box office attendtent if I was at the right United Artist theatre. she said the film was playing.... but they could not post it outside. The turnout was good..mainly sisters and brothers, but non-muslims did not get the opportunity to view the film because the theatre did not list it on their showings. The only way I found out about was the posting on this web site. Obviously CAIR is concerned and are encouraging people to contact their theaters and request the film be shown as it is only available in select locations. It was a powerful film to represent the true message of peace delivered by Mohammad pbuh. This could very well be the baind aid that promotes understanding to many misinformed people. The prophet pbuh had a difficult time spreading the message...he and his followers never gave up, despite incredible hardship. We should be inspired to follow that path. Wa Salaam |

| [wlm] We watched the film up here as well on Eid day. I thought the film was excellent and very well made. Two things were very lacking however 1. publicity and 2. ticket sale problems. In our theater which seats 300 there were only 50 people! and I know there was another theater with similar seating at that same time. There were so many people who wanted to buy tickets but could not through the website. We were sold out of our 50 that we had bought and then could not buy more. The company should have really sent all the tickets to all the shows to a mosque or contact person and have that person sell it in the community. We could have sold out the theater and had sooo many more children come and see it who would have enjoyed it immensely. It was very disappointing to see that. |

| Indeed....Perhaps this was atrial run and they will inshallah iron out the mistakes and next Eid the theaters will be packed. Publicity is important many non-muslims are intrigued yet misinformed about Islam..I'm quite sure they would benefit from understanding the true meaning of Islam instead of the negative propoganda that we are all overwhelmed with. Sadly, a large majority of Christians and non- believers think that Islam does not recognize Jesus as prophet and this film would certainly clarify the importance of all the prophets...including our last. PBUH Wa-Salaam |
