They released it at ISNA too.. the guy at their booth told me that it cost like $80,000 bux!!! I hope they can recover that.. but it's definitely a cool video.. One thing I don't get is what he finds at the end.. what is that?? a table?? a square? what does it represent? knowledge?

Anyway I asked the guy at the table so many questions about Sami Yusuf he started to look at me weird so I had to run away  :-/

I think it's a structure of some sort. They showed it at the last photo of the cover of Al Mu'alaim. When I first saw it, it looked liked a chimney sticking out ::) :P :D.

I think it's some sort of structure, like a mineret or sometin. Though I don't know what effect it's supposed to produce.

Very cool ma'shallah.. I am really excited that they are playing it in the Arab world. It's like now we have come to a time where we can benefit from overseas and overseas can benefit from us.. inshaAllah..

PS Nida we need to start a fan club :) I hear he has a new ramadan cd coming out, but it isn't ready yet?

Here's what he writes on his website about the meaning of the thing at the end... I mean after reading some things he writes i'm just like... ...there are brothers out there like that!!!?!! amazing mashallah. His wife will be very lucky... and get an awesome nasheed singer at their wedding as a bonus! ;)

-----------------

Many people ask me what does the cover represent? It signifies the light of the prophetic message coming to illuminate the night of darkness. This is true for the time of the Prophet (S), when fathers used to bury their daughters alive; when tribal warfare was a daily routine over the most absurd of reasons; when slavery was accepted; when women were seen as chattel to be bought, sold and used; when equality was an unimaginable concept; and when injustice and misery reigned. This is also true for today, where the world is living in darkness, where the biotech companies put profit before people’s lives, leaving tens of millions to die of Aids in Africa because they can’t afford the extortionate prices the medicine costs; where people are lost, looking for a purpose or for the meaning of this life; where humans’ daily life is that of a ferret on his wheel, toiling for money; where man’s mad worship of money is destroying our habitat, a manifestation of Allah’s saying: Corruption - has manifested itself on the land and in the sea due to what man’s hands have wrought…”; where the strong vanquished the weak; where materialism reigns. It is our duty in this reality that faces to absorb the light of the prophetic message and to reflect that light onto the society in which we live, so that we can turn this darkness into light insha Allah.

Ramadan Note

My dear brothers and sisters in Islam, alhamdulillah (praise be to God), we have lived another year to see and experience Ramadan. The Sahaba's (Companions of the Prophet), due to their strong Iman and conviction, would often have an urge to return to their Lord and they had no desire to remain in this world, except that they wished for two things. They would say ‘Oh Allah, let us live to see Ramadan for another year.’ Subhan Allah! How wonderful, they wanted to experience Ramadan because they knew! They knew what was waiting for them. Indeed, the mercy and compassion of Allah (SWT) is at its utmost in Ramadan, where “the doors of Hell are sealed and the doors of Heaven are opened,” Subhan Allah! May Allah enable us to use our time well in Ramadan for as the hadith of our dear Mu’allim Muhammad (SAS) says “whoever fasts sincerely hoping to receive Allah’s pleasure and prays during the last ten nights of Ramadan hoping to gain His favour will have ALL of his sins forgiven.” Dear brothers and sisters, lets us pray like we’ve never prayed before during Ramadan. Let’s make this Ramadan even more special and memorable than our previous ones. Let’s repent for ALL our sins for He (SWT) will forgive us (insha Allah) because He is oft-forgiving, (Ar-Rahim, Ar-Rahman) and he forgives ALL sins. I recall a truly beautiful hadith Qudsi where Allah (God) Says: “O son of Adam, so long as you call upon Me and ask of Me, I shall forgive you for what you have done, and I shall not mind. O son of Adam, were your sins to reach the clouds of the sky and were you then to ask forgiveness of Me, I would forgive you. O son of Adam, were you to come to me with sins nearly as great as the earth and were you then to face me, ascribing no partner to Me, I would bring you forgiveness nearly as great at it.

An early Ramadan Mubarak and I beg Allah to forgive us our sins and to make us among those who will be worthy to see the smiling face of our dear teacher, Prophet, role model, guide and beloved Muhammad (SAS) – Amin.

Final Note

Allah is my witness and knows what is in my heart as I type these words for you, Wallahi, I am very proud to be part of the Ummah of our beloved teacher, prophet and guide: Muhammad Mustafa (SAS) and I am proud of you all. It’s my honour, duty and pleasure to be serving Allah (SWT) alongside all of you! Please safeguard your Iman and faith by making sure you are in a blessed environment who are fearful of Allah and who will help you with your Islamic development. We must make sure to attend regular Halaqas, Islamic circles of knowledge (gatherings etc), and to always have the understanding that we should always be developing Islamically, i.e. memorising and understanding the Quran, attending circles and blessed gathering which will have righteous people who we can learn and benefit from. May Allah bless you all and may He grant us steadfastness, accept our repentance in Ramadan, forgive our sins, grant us prosperity and guide us to that which pleases Him – Amin Ya Rabb.

I saw it for the first time on Amr Khaled's show, it made my cry.  Apparently they're showing on Arab music channels in between regular clips :)  A friend of mine heard it on the radio here!!   :)
