ATTENTION Reverts

I was wondering if we can all share what brought us to Islam?
With the post about being Muslim in ones heart I thought this would be
a nice way to share what brought us to Islam?
How did our search begin? Or what started our search?
Memories of our hearts vs our minds when it began.
(ie: Like when I mentioned in my post about when seeing sisters
it was like a familaritiy thing, like seeing a long lost friend or family
member and how I felt when wearing a scarf in windy weather.)

It would be so cool to hear all the stories,
what background we came from, families reactions and such.
That is, anyone who would not mind sharing.  :-)

How come your posts still say seeker? You did become a Muslim, right?

Actually I did this thread for you naturallyme.
I was touched by your post about being / feeling Muslim in your heart
and I thought the stories here (or when they eventually are shared hint hint)
that you might enjoy them or relate to them.
Like when I mentioned the things I did in the thread you started.
I'm gonna leave explaining the word 'revert' to Kathy or Jannah as I
believe they can do a much better job of it than I.

Many Muslims who were not brought up as a Muslim consider themselves to be 'reverts."

For example, the definition according to Webster of a convert is  'to bring over from one belief,... to another.'

On the other hand a revert is, (same source), 'to come or go back (as to a former condition, period, or subject).'

When all of humanitywas brought before God before we were born, He made a covenant with us and let us know that we are Muslims (those who submit to One God).

So therefore, when a person becomes a Muslim, we are returning to the same way we were born, before our parents or societies intervention. Although the word convert works as an adjective, a revert is more accurate!

WoW! :o

I am in awe of the things I read here in this city. It makes my heart leap. The Bible says "with all thy getting get understanding." Proverbs 4:7  I am working on it. :-)
