| Jannah, I wanted to tell you I finally followed through on trying to get in touch with the authors of the book you sent me earlier this year. (Which I am reading for the 3rd time already :-/ ) Just for some reason I felt like I wanted to get in touch with her but never tried till this week-end. I sent it in care of the publisher. Between Islam and horses I really wanted to get in touch with her. Guess what!!!!!!!! She emailed back within a day or two. I felt so honored. Told her how much I enjoyed her book and emailed her about myself and the horses here. Jannah, I want to thank you again for such a thoughtful and precious gift and also highy recommend it to all sisiters but Revert sisters specifically. It is called Islam Our Choice Portraits of Modern American Muslim Women amana publications. I noticed new site members who are revert sisters and wanna be reverts ;) And I highly recommend this book. If anyone wants this book but cannot fit it in their budget, please email me at ranchlady42@aol.com I would be most thrilled to send you a copy. THANK YOU JANNAH !!!!!!!!!!!! | [slm] Sister Azizah... Are you talking about sis Debra ?!!!! She's a personal friend of mine and "took care" of me when I said my shahadda at the masjid for the first time. Also, sister Khadija the former follower of NOI, is a very good friend of mine and a wonderful sister. BTW, I don't know if sis Debra told you, but her husband is quite the distinguished writer and in my opinion a brilliant man. If you would like, I could tell the names of his books and where to purchase them. In fact, you could purchase them from Debra if you so wished. [wlm] :-) PS. LOL, Jannah, I think siister Debra would get a kick out of being called a "famous author". |

| Yes I am, :) small world. You know Debra??? !!!!!!!!!! I was so shocked to get a reply and one so fast. So if she is a personal friend why have you not invited her to visit our Muslim cyber family??? hmmm hmmm hmmmm ;) As I was reading the book I was thinking I wannnnnnnnaaaaa meet these sisters. Oh no, just had a thought :( If you know me on the board and you know her!!!!!!!!! I'll most likely never hear from her again. Just kidding :D HEY REVERTS.........GET THE BOOK :) So tell us is she as cool in person as she sounds like in the book??? |

| It's a great book, I thoroughly enjoyed it and I loved reading about the horses too. I definitely recommend it to reverts and to anyone who wants to learn more about the "revert experience". |

| [slm] Bro suleyman, You can get this book on several online companies including www.islamicbookstore.com and http://www.noorart.com/product733.html as well as several others inshallah. I haven't talked to Khadija or Debra as of late, but maybe they could get the book to you for cheaper. For now though I would try ordering it off the internet. [wlm] :-) |
