| [slm] I too have just entered through the gates of Madinat Al-Muslimeen, seems like a great place and Inshallah I hope on 'settling down' here also :) Welcome to the the two other posters who have joined in the past few days... Rina and Melis. Well what is there to say... In truth destiny (naseeb) lead me here, both figuratively as well as literally, haha... lets see who gets that reference ;) I'm down in the Caribbean, The Dominican Republic to be exact... came down here for studies and Inshallah I'll be finishing next month... WOO HOO!! (Sorry... that’s just how I feel). Truth be told though I'm really going to miss the brothers and sisters down here, we've established a nice little community with a GREAT masjid down here... but Allah is the provider of Risq and He knows better where I'm to be... Something interesting that happened today... I was walking through the main hall at the hospital and this desi looking guy approaches me with Salams, he goes on to tell me that his wife just had a baby and asks if I could come to their room (in the gyny ward) and call the Adhan/Iqamah in the baby's ears :) Making the calls and then translating into Spanish for the Spanish speakers that were also listening, Subhanallah it was awesome!! Allah is indeed Akbar! Man... its things like this I'm going to miss the most... Just a few days left in this amazing month... |

| [wlm] Ahlan wa sahlan sundoc... my friend from DR is a revert. she said they have like 2 mosques on the island! so alhamdulillah u guys established another one working in the medical field im sure u have alot of nice opportunities to visit the sick and bring new muslims into the world it is sad ramadan is almost over.... very sad.. i hope Allah grants us an opportunity to experience ramadan again next year i feel like i should write a litter to myself now to motivate myself in the beginning of next year so i don't make more mistakes or regret what i do.. khair inshallah wlm, |

| Salam, Once again, Jazakallah Khair for the welcoming words. Alhumdulilah being in this field really does open up the doors of dawah... I guess it has to do with people really putting their trust in you, Inshallah we'll all be able to do our little parts. Your friend is from the DR, nice! When was she here though? I ask 'cause Masjid Al Noor is the first masjid built on the island, been up for about 3 and half years... actually now that I think about it, there was a a place that had been rented out and was being used as a masjid but that had closed down before I came here. Other than that, there were 2/3 musallahs back in the day and when I first got here (almost 4 years ago) there was just one musllah left... Mashallah there are ALOT of Dominicans down here reverting to Islam, it really is something incredible... did your friend revert down here or in the states? It really is sad how Ramadhan is about to leave us! I for one think the letter writing idea is right on the money... actually sounds alot like an idea we'd been promoting during the halaqahs leading upto this month. Inshallah we'll all be able to build on what we've done during this month... ameen. |

| [wlm] se7en, Halima and Justone, Yeah there really have been some incredible experiences being down here, Alhudmdulilah... Insight :) Well I think most of the people here really seem to have a similar focus and drive, its great to think that I can maybe be a part of something so good. The 10 horsemen... the ones to be dispatched by Imam Mehdi to verify if the reports of dajjal are indeed true... they will be the best of the warriors and in deen! |
