| I read this post and entered a chat room and was totally disgusted with the type of messages posted on these chat rooms. I notified AOL and asked how could such hate crimes and slander to muslims be accepted. Please stop the hate and misinformation by informing AOL or whatever internet service you have. Words like "sandniggers" and "dirty moslem scumbags" are NOT freedom of speech. |

| I also belong to AOL and visit Islamic chat rooms. But on occationally (seldom) in the past have visited other rooms and here is what I have found. First, AOL cannot monitor every word every second that is why at the bottom of the chat box there is something you can click on 'Notify AOL' when you click on it, it shows the conversation immed proceeding your click and leaves you a place for an explaination I find if I polietly ask the offending person to stop or move on and others in the room do the same and it continues, they disappear. I have heard from others that offending parties accounts are frozen until they call in for another password. Please do not try to take things personal. It is easier said than done. I use to get quite upset and now I use it as an opportunity to pray for this persons 1) Soul and 2)That the hatred in their hearts be healed. Please know and I am talking from exper, no matter which religion chat you go into, someone from one group is always saying bad things about other groups. Also note that I know many many Christians and the ones I know have to much love in their hearts and are to busy to be in chat rooms. And do not spread or promote hatred. Hatred and ignorance is not prejudice, it knows no boundaries has no color or belief or race restrictions. And just cause they say they are Christian or Muslim doesn't mean they are cause I don't know any Muslim persoanally that would say the things that calmed Muslims say in the chat rooms nor do I know any Christians that would EVER use the name of Jesus with the language used. Also after you report them then IGGY them (ingnore list) Finally don't take it personally, use it as an opportunity to pray for them. After all anyone with that much hatred in their hearts and souls must be a misrable person and so unhappy within themselves, I cannot even imagine. :'( Yes freedom of speech is freedom of speech no matter what is said. But Praise be to Allah we also have freedoms. Freedoms to not subject ourselves to it Freedom to pray for the person thus turning our hurt into, putting it into Allahs hands which is a much better place for it to be. As he will handle these matters in a way we cannot. |

| There was much peace and serenity in your response...I need to pray very hard to forgive these individuals...obviously they are uneducated, misdirected, and spritualy bankrupt, However these attitudes have become an epidemic in American culture. This scares me. I pray that all faiths will respect and understand the beauty and the peace of Islam instead of the media perpetuated propaganda. Inshalla they will learn |

Yes, there are some pretty awful, evil people in the world, perpetrating vicious, evil, nightmarish and horrid acts in this cause or another. Many will try to invoke God's name to justify their actions. That is the type of person who folks are mad at. If you're peace minded and see things clearly, recognizing a higher vision where there is just pain and evil, there's nothing to get so upset about. Offer a correction. Try to persuade the argument but don't blow up about the differences though. That old saying "Hear no evil, speak no evil, see no evil" does wonders to keep a soul in balance. Just walk away if you have to. Think about this - if any visible group of people caused destruction and pain to your neighbourhood, it's highly probably you and your neighbours would have some negative feelings towards those people and others who are similar to them, who share the same beliefs. We're all capable of those feelings. We're all so similar. But keep a higher vision of the world in your mind and let the anger pass - it can be extremely infectious, like a disease.
