Multiple Congregations at the Kaaba

Some interesting history!

Were there recognized ulema who adopted and taught the practice of 4 different congregations at the Haram in Makkah? Were the Salafis the first to disagree with this practice or ulema from the 4 madhahib also disagreed with this practice?

Walaikum assalam wa rahmatullah,

The practice of multiple congregations was adopted for expediency of teaching the pilgrims, and for those praying to be able to hear the imam’s recitation—not out of madhhab-based schisms.

Many scholars condemned it, though, including Imam Shihab al-Din al-Ramli of the Shafiis and Khayr al-Din al-Ramli of the Hanafis, in a joint fatwa. [Ibn Abidin, Radd al-Muhtar]

Wassalam,

I think that is a sufi site not sunni site. They believe in tawassul of the dead and that is a form of shirk according to ahlusunnah wal jama'ah. Among other questionable practices that they pretend were part of the sunnah. giving things names and saying this is just a path you take to reach somewhere yet it what they do is make deals with supposed shyook and each path has a certain forms of thikr you'd have to stick to instead of just what is authentic. These "shaikhs" have some secret sacred knowledge that supposedly is only learned from them and it goes all the way to prophet muhammad  [saw]. Why would he have kept a secret about Allah's religion or how to attain piety or closeness to Allah, etc. It is the opposite of what his own  [saw] hadeeth tells us. That he  [saw] left us everythign so clear. If we stick to it we win. Worse is that they believe you loose yourself and can reach a state of being one with God or that He is part of us,etc. depending on which Sufi sect you speak with, they all one or another form of weird innovations that they try to justify.

So anywya, I don't know if you can link to it in that site in this message board. Mods? This isn't a board for any particular group i don't think, but I know they honor the sunnah more than that.

The Naseeha Corner is only a place for asking questions/problems that people have.  Furthermore this board is not some place to be getting into a discussion about groups or sects or trying to incite such behavior.  Respect the rules of this board!

Actually the site is not a bad one. It is that we don't want this thread to develop into a sufi versus salafi etc argument back and forth between people on the board. Everyone on the board will have different opinions and inclinations based upon their education, as do scholars themselves based upon their knowlege. Believe me, we have seen way too many of these arguments on the board and they are not benefitting anyone because in the end they tend to degenerate into even worse arguments and turn personal and usually ugly in the end.

Therefore I'm going to close this thread.
