What do you feel the need to pray about?

Today I came across an awful accident.
For some reason many years ago it came upon my
heart I was suppose to pray for any accidents I came across
or sirens I heard. Weird huh???
It was a strong feeling that I needed to do this and so I do.
I will pray for the persons needs, medical, spiritual, healing, their families
and the medical team responding.
Does anyone else feel that praying for certain situations has been
placed on their hearts/spirit?

Today a car on HWY 5 a bit north of Seattle
went into the north bound lane crashing into two cars
and all three bursted into flames  :(   :'(
As I was trying to get to the south bound from a meeting
I was listening to the reports, praying for the people and
watching the medivac
helicopter going back and forth. I has seen it three times in an hour.
This could be any of us or our family or friends at anytime  :(
Sad to say. We never know when our time is up.
Or when someone will do something stupid to hurt or kill others.
I was a bit choking back tears as I prayed thinking about the poor
families who would go home tonight to a phone call that their loved one had
killed or hurt (news said 1 dead and 7 airlifted)
To my Medina board family.......drive careful and stay safe.
What do you feel burdened to pray for???

Okay this is probably not relevant, but I was in Karachi for a few days, and on my return flight, I was sitting in a window seat in front of a woman and her toddler son who were sharing a seat (he was in her lap).  I was leaning my head on the window, listening to their conversation...

The kid had his face in the window (on the seat behind me), and he was looking at the clouds beneath him talking to his mother in a muffled voice, "ammi the clouds are so nice, the sky is so blue"...etc etc..really cute things like that.  The mom was replying to him on and off, but I gathered she was reading something.  After a few minutes, she leans into the window and says "Beta, why are there tears streaming down your face?"  As soon as she says this, the kid starts bawling.  His cries were so heartbreaking.  Then his mom goes "are you missing Baba?"  And he just kept saying "I miss him sooooo much."  So the mom starts crying.  Two minutes later, I started crying.  I dont know where his Baba was or anything, but I prayed for all the children in the world who need that love, protection and discipline that only parents can provide.

I guess I feel burdened to pray for them..

Wasalaam.

Personally, I feel burdened to pray for those women I see on TV crying for their murdered husbands, and for those boys for have seen their mothers and sisters raped in front of their young eyes, and those men who are all alone in their fight for freedom from tyranny, and those girls who have lost their entire family through the hands of brutal, heartless people.

As Muslims, we have a duty to pray for our tortured brothers and sisters all over the world - its not an option, but a duty. Du'aa/prayer is the very least we can do, innit.

What do I feel the need to pray about?

I've been out of work for over a year now. I'm trying to get started up in my own business (professional musician - shows, teaching students, etc...) since my work in technology fell apart.

My parents have been helping us until work picks up again (??). We can't survive much longer on what my wife has been fortunate to have found around here - too many businesses and companies closed down, lots of "for lease" signs, and we don't qualify for welfare assistance.

And today (the 16th) my aged parents (dad 73 with fused spine and double hip replacement, mom 56) who for the last 16 years have worked as live-in janitors and maintenance (their apartment comes with the job) in this apartment building I live in were given their termination papers. Their jobs have been outsourced to contractors.

They have 7 days to get out of the home they've lived in for all of this time.

They're welcome here of course, but ours is a tiny apartment and can't be a long term solution.

Oh, plus it's freezing cold outside and nobody wants to end up homeless in a Canadian winter.

We pray every day for this siege against the poor to end - the world IS at war, rich against poor, east against west.

All of this is entirely man-made and it's got to stop.....but as long as some idiot thinks he or she can make a profit from the politics of division, I'm afraid it's going to continue.
