| [slm] Hope everyone is doing well inshaAllah. I have been so upset lately about my brother having this surgery done that i thought i would post here. My brother went to a dentist cuz he wanted to get braces on his teeth cuz they were all messed up, and they put him through so many things. He just got this surgery done yesterday where they expanded his upper jaw, by cutting the roof of his mouth and breaking the bone under it, and they put screws on the sides of his mouth with these little rods coming out to the center of his mouth where they put a piece of plastic, right over where they have cut and broken the bone of the roof of his mouth. The next 6 months they will slowly keep expanding the upper jaw with the rods they have placed. I was so angry at him for even getting all this done, but he said the dentist is saying they can't put braces on unless he has gotten all this done. My mom says he is in so much pain, and can't swallow anything. I can't even bare to go look at him I feel so upset. Even giving him pain medicine is a task cuz its so hard for him to swallow. He obviously can't eat anything, all he has taken so far is 3 teaspoons of a protien shake with a lot of gagging and pain. Please, I request all of you to do dua for him to make him feel better and recover fast inshaAllah. JazakAllah Khair. [wlm] |

| [slm] may Allah give your brother a speedy recovery and ease his pains - ameen. ask your brother to make dua too, as the dua of the sick is answered bi'ithni Allah. in addition to duas, you need to take practical steps to address your brother's sickness. the condition of your brother is very serious. he should be taken to the nearest hospital as he has not been eating and could be having ketosis right now. he may have to be put on iv for pain medicine as well as for nutrients. take care wassalam Mona |
