Don't laugh but I am learning to perform my abulations and salah from a book written for children..notebly called the "Childrens Book of Salah." It is written naturally that even a child can comprehend and found this book easy for me to use as there are illustrations for wudu and illustrated steps one through eleven. Sadly, as a revert salat can be a complicated proccess for me as I am not yet prepared to go the the Mosque. The book mentions a Sajdatus Sahw or prostration of forgetfulness... If I made a mistake the book says I can perform this after the last ra'kah...and say Tashahhud..turn face to right and say Assalamu 'alaikum wa rahmatullah and make two extra sujud?? Here is were I'm confused the book does explain Tashahhud...but I'm lost on sujud with(tasbih?) then Tashhahud again okay but what is As -salah 'alan Nabiyy(Darud) and dua. If I'm praying alone sometimes I feel like I may have forgotten a step in my recitiation so can someone explain this last step in Sajdatus Sahw or Prostration of Forgetfulnesss. |

[slm] what you are reading is according to the Hanafi Maslak. In Salafi Maslak, ie according to the Saheeh Hadith, the method of doing sajdae sahw (the prostation of forgetfulness) is to complete your Salah in the normal way, then without saying the salaams, you perform two extra sujood in the same way as in Salah {with saying Allahu Akbar before going into prostration, saying tasbih (Subhana Rabbiyal a3alaa), and after the last sajda you sit up and say the salam, thus finishing the Salah. If you have said the salam, and got up,and then remembered your mistake, you can still do the sajdae sahw as above; ie Allahu Akbar, then do the sujood with tasbih, then salam. easy, :) actually I would advise you to visit some of the salafi sites like http://www.islam-qa.com/ to get your fiqh quesions answered |

[slm] Sr. are there no muslim sisters in your area. I learnt my salah by praying out loud whilst a sister watched me and corrected any mistakes in my actions or prayer. Admittedly I was attending madrassa at the time. Love & Duaas Wassalaam |

[slm] sr bangachi, br. timbaktu described the correct way of doing sajdatus sahw. now as to al-salah al-ibrahimiya (or the last part of tashahhud also know as durud in urdo), this is the english transliteration for it: Al-Salah Al-Ibrahimiya --------------------- allahuma salli 'ala sayyidina muhammad wa 'ala aali sayyidina muhammad kama sallayta ala sayyidina ibrahim wa 'ala alli sayyidina ibrahim wa barik 'ala sayyidina muhammad wa 'ala aali sayyidina muhammad kama barakta ala sayyidina ibrahim wa 'ala alli sayyidina ibrahim fi al-alameen, innaka hameedun majeed. you read the above in the last sujood of the prayer (not necessary for sajadus sahw), after reading tashahhud (see below) and before tasleem [i.e., before turning your neck to the right then left saying "assalamu alaikum wa rahmatu Allah" ]: tashahhud ---------- at-tahiyyatu lillahi wa as-salawatu wa at-tayyibat assalamu 'alayka ayyuha an-nabiyu wa rahmatu Allahi wa barakatuh assalmu 'alayna wa 'ala 'ibadi Allahi as-saliheen ash-hadu an la ilah illa Allah wa anna muhammadan rasoolu Allah --- wassalam |
