| [slm] Dirty! My first impression. Now the convenience makes up for it. 3.5hrs from NYC and 45min from DC is pretty good. Plus, there is always a lot going on in or around baltimore. Great masjid. Masjid ur rahma. Spent Ramadan going there for the Taraweeh. It was excellent. It is called 'charm city' or something. Don't hold your breath. People are usually quite tough, bordering on downright mean :) If your looking for a place to stay in Baltimore. Don't. The city is so shady it is impossible for a newcommer to know which type of neighborhood they are in. It changes within a couple of blocks sometimes. Plus, there are Islands of good blocks surrounded by deadly ones. Better live in the county. Maybe as far as Columbia. :) just to be safe. I arrived here about 5 years ago. Upon arrival my friend informed me that it was ranked as having the highest crime rate in any city in the US. Ofcourse my mother did not hear of this stuff. If you have some city smarts, you will be fine. I just always try to be safe, even if it is inconvenient. Good luck Let me know if you have specific questions. |
