[slm]...

I miss you guys.

OK.  SO the last time I signed in I said I might have some good news for you all.  Well, here goes....

OK.  *takes in deep breath*

I'm engaged.  WOOHOO!!!  I'm engaged.  I've never been so happy, but I don't want to be too happy cause you know it might not work out.  He was studying in Germany and then he proposed.  Tried to get a visa there to come visit me, but they told him to apply in Pakistan.  I heard about invitation visas and that's what I'm trying to do but I know nothing about Visa this or Visa that.

So my questions are:

I looked at the web site "Path to the US" and they were informative.  Had some examples too.  So far I'm waiting for my bank to get a life's worth (1 year) of deposit info to send to the Consulate.  They told me it will take a while.

Here is alist of what they ask for:
-Affadavit of Support
-For H1B (whatever that is-I think for business people...right?  I don't need this do I?)
-Passport
-Birth certificate
-letter from Human Resources (proof of job and amount of salary)
-letter from my bank with a years worth of deposit and current balance
-2 years of Tax Return
-2 pay stubs
-2 pints of blood (just kidding)

Do they really need all of this?

Is my passport sufficient or do I have send them my Naturalization certificate of citizenship?

How much money do I need in my account for them to approve?

How long will all this take?

Any info would make my life a whole lot easier, please.

I've written them an email, but they have not responded.  He will give them a call on Monday to see if these questions could be answered.

If it works out for him to come in March...then you guys are all invited to my wedding this April in Pakistan.

If it doesn't work out, this letter never existed.

Jazakhumullahu Khairun Ukhtis wa Akhis Fideen....

Ma-assalaamah....

Congratulations...mashaAllah that's excellent.

Give them everything they asked for, AND MORE.  And file it nicely, in an organized fashion :)  (this means...give in the naturalization paper as well)...

The time period really depends.

So I was thinking...why don't you apply for a fiancé visa?  Apparently it's more effective.  Then go on and do all that GC stuff, if applicable?

May things work out smoothly, inshaAllah...*hugglez*

Wasalaam.

[slm],

Mabrook! My advice, take the services of a lawyer if possible. For information you can scour the following sites, www.murthy.com (try their forums), www.immigrationportal.com.

Jazakhumullahu khairun.  We will apply for fiance visa after wards since it will take longer to process about 4 months or more.  And if it works out for him to come here in March, we'll marry then.  And then his parents wants to give me a wedding in Pakistan in April.  So we can't wait for months.  I heard that this invitation visa will only take about a month give or take a couple weeks, insha Allah.

Allah Bless All of You....

Ma-assalaamah....
