Should good dreams be shared?

I am unaware of the Prophetic guidance concerning ones dreams. Should one share good dreams with others or keep them to oneself?

I remember hearing an honored shakyh say that dreams just warm the heart and one should not fuss too much over them. I guess that was to prevent someone from becoming too content with his state after a good dream.

I am always interested in hearing good dreams... anyone care to share?

as salaamu alaykum wa rahmatullah,

hmm..  I'm not sure what the specific rulings are...

I know a person who had a dream in which they thought they saw Rasulullah [saw]!!! but when they starting thinking more deeply about the dream and reflecting on its details, they realized that it was not true.. because the person in the dream did not properly fit the description we know about him [saw].

when I heard about this, I was thinking: if this same thing happened to me, would I be equipped with enough knowledge and discernment to know what I actually saw?

how do we know for sure if our good dream was really 'good', or just nafsani?

just some food for thought, Allahu a'lam...
