| [slm] My mom has recently been diagnosed with Cancer...they aren't sure if its ovarian or the lining of her stomach. They will be doing surgery soon followed by rounds of chemotherapy if needed. I am at a loss of words or feelings to describe this trial our family is going through. If i could be selfish enough to ask for a moment of your time in Salaat, reflection or dhikr...please make duah for her well being; strength; and Mercy from the Healer of All Healers. | [slm] Sorry to hear of that, sister. Inshallah she will be well soon. The prophet [saw] said black seeds are a cure for every disease, except old age. so is honey. and the prophet [saw] used to take honey. I think the method is one teaspoonful of honey dissolved in half to one teacup of water, warm enough to be sipped comfortably. This on an empty stomach. i.e: first thing in the morning and also without taking anything at least half an hour after taking this. second, olive is mentioned in the Quran, and I read somewhere a long time ago that the Japanese have a low incidence of stomach cancer, because their food includes olive oil. So, that article recommended one spoonful of olive oil. If you check it out, and this thing about olive oil is confirmed, or if olive oil has no detrimental effect in the view of your mom's doctors, perhaps she could take this as well. I will be making duas, inshallah. |

| [wlm] My dearest sister, I didn't know....all those times I keep wanting to go online and was too exhausted to do so...U were in pain.. Dearest Rainbow remember how u were one of my pillar of strength when I went through the same thing last year ? Well, I am here for you, in every way and in every sense. I will make mad du'aat for her and u as a family too so that all of you will be granted strength to get through this. Last year, I found out I was pregnant 2 weeks after my mom was diagnosed with cancer and I told u that it is Allah's way of making me appreciate Life and Living. Alhamdulillah my mom survived the surgery and she is due for her 2nd radiatioactive iodine treatment this 28 Feb. Alhamdulillah she is alive to undergo these treatments. Remember what we said ? Ur mom is really one strong woman (think no nausea) and she will be stronger after this experience Inshallah. And so will u be. A stronger daughter, stronger mommy and a stronger Muslim. I'd bet my last dollar on that (if its halal ;) ). Please believe that this is Allah's way of telling YOU that your life and living it will get even more precious. | [slm] Sorry to hear this. May Allah (SWT) help you and your family and cure your mother. AMEEN. My mother had stage 4 (advanced state) of ovarian cancer a little over 5 years ago. Alhumdullilah she survived. There was some experimental drugs that had come out that really helped after the surgery and during the chemotherapy. I think it was called gemzar. |

| [slm] Sweetie.... This is going to be a difficult one for you and your family, especially you. If you need anything, anything, just IM me and we can talk personally on the phone or whatever you need. I have been through the same with a family member and I was one of those that hid it all inside....I was baiscally in denial. Mom needs you to be strong for her and lots of du'as and salaat helps. You and your family will be in my du'as. Just remember Allah (SWT) no matter how hard and difficult it may get. Always remember Allah (SWT). Ma-assalaamh and take care. Allah (SWT) bless and have mercy on us all....ameen. |

| [slm] Something made me open this thread today, instead of the hundreds of others I have not read... Sub7anAllah...I am very sorry to hear this Nur. Your mom and your entire family will be in my prayers. Allah is most Merciful, and He swt does not put a burden on us, more than we can bare. May Allah grant your mom strength and complete recovery, and you and your family all you need to get her through this difficult time. | [slm] Jazakumu Allahu Khayr for all the heartfelt duahs and tips. bhaloo i am glad you shared that about your mom...it really gives me hope. They diagnosed my mom at stage 3.c. out of 4. But the doc said most patients are diagnosed late due to the hardship of detecting this particular type of cancer. I am writing to request more duahs as tommorow they are doing a major surgery on my mom. Inshaallah after this they will start chemo and stuff. Please keep her in your duahs and may Allah reward you all (amin). [wlm] |
