Hello everyone hope everyone is ok! Happy islamic new year to everyone.

My question is......at the moment im not muslim, im starting to tell the people close to me that i wish to covert and im finding it very hard, but i know allah will guide me and make it easy for me.  Anyway my question is...at the moment im living on my own and i have a young daughter, so a single mum, i was reading somewere that if i convert i need to be with muslim people and to not live on my own, is this correct? I need your advice on what to do about my living arrangements for when i convert.

Thankyou

[slm] I hope you decide to say the shahada soon :)

I think the ruling of having to live among Muslims exists so that you can learn more quickly, and find support should you feel lonely or intimidated by society's hostility.

Also, it is advisable to have a mihram.

But I think in the UK society of today, if you think you are doing fine, and living near a masjid where you can get the necessary support, you could continue to stay alone.

I have forgotten where in the UK you live in. I think most towns and cities have sufficient Muslim presence, so you could live there if need be. Isn't there a masjid or an Islamic Centre near you?

Perhaps others from the UK can contribute here. I have been away from the UK for too long. :)

Dear uksara,
If you are sure that Islam is the truth, you shoudn't worry for the things that come after that. You need to take your shahada and start your prayers and Allah will quide you in the way. If you need anybody to talk to, you can always PM me. I am sorry I can not be of further help, as I not live in UK. May Allah bless you and your child and help you along the way!

Its good for you to be around Muslim people so they will help you as a new sister to Islam.  Its good to visit the local masjid where you are so they can maybe find some Muslim friends for you to be with.  Also, I'm sure there are some Muslim sisters here on the board that will help you.

May Allah (SWT) help you and guide you to Islam.

If you feel telling the rest of the family brings harm to you at this time , you better wait until you organize yourself and get more strength
