| Asalamu Alaikum Brothers and Sisters, My name is Derek, I am 14, and I came to Islam a few months a go with the help of my friends on the WhyIslam.org forums. I especially want to thank Hamayoun for always being there to help me. Let me tell you a bit about myself. I am an only child and recently moved to Vermont from Southern New Jersey. There is one mosque in the entire state, which is about an hour or two from where I live. My mother, along with the rest of my relatives, are Catholics and really aren't fond of the idea of me being a muslim, but I have explained to them the benefits I and they will recieve for encouraging me further into this religion. It has been rather hard for me lately so I quickly made an appointment to meet a brother from the Islamic Society of Vermont tomorrow, that is if the 16 inches of snow outside doesn't stop me... :-/ I hope to post here regularly and feel like one of the group. -SelsiuS |
