| Assalam alaikum, How does someone deal with a fellow Muslim/ah who is being rude and inconsiderate? Do you give it time or just blow it off? What if they cut off contact with you without explanation and no matter what friendly attempts you make they just shrug you off? Any advice is appreciated. Thank you :) |

| People don't 'just' cut off associations with a friend for no reason. I'd be willing to guess either you have offended them in some way, people get offended for all kinds of reasons. Don't always have to make sense. Something you may not even be aware of may be happening in their life. Or the person is going through a rough time, when people feel overwhelmed they tend to withdrawl and stay to themselves while figuring things out. This has happen to me recently where an old friend became upset at others, told everyone they were not going to be in contact with anyone anymore, to concentrate on their family, it was accepted and then months later out of the blue they pop up and with information (complaints of others) I was totally unaware of. Who knows what lurks in people hearts and minds. Who knows what another is truly dealing with. Write a nice note or card with how you feel, what you are looking for (if rekindled friendship or what) and offer your friendship. After that it is up to them. Don't push it. I would through in a few duas also. Insha'Allah they will come around. |
