| **************Fundraising Dinner******************* Location: James Hubert Blake High School Address: 300 Norwood Rd, Silver Spring, MD 20905 Date: March 26, 2005 Time: 6:00-9:30 ********************************************************* Dr. Al-Timimi Support Committee would like to extend its thanks to all who have stood by Dr. Al-Timimi. We are really overwhelmed by the outpouring of support for Dr. Al-Timimi. Alhamdullilah, by the grace of God with very limited resources, we were able to raise more than $150,000, we have received tens of letters of support from around the world, and we hired a very competent legal team who are working around the hour on this case. **What is next?** With two weeks left for the April 4th trial, lots of work needs to be done. We still owe around $173,000. We are planning an urgent fund raising dinner on March 26th. By the will of Allah then by your generosity we can reach that goal. The fundraising campaign is going on and it is not limited to the fundraising dinner. We now accepting credit cards donations online. **Why should you help?** When people are asked to donate or pay money, the first question comes is 'what service do I get in exchange for my money?' Dr. Al-Timimi's case is a unique one and the ruling on the case will set a legal precedence that could affect each and every Muslim in the US specially those who are involved in giving religious speeches. This is not a one-person case, he just happened to be at the front. When supporting our Muslim brothers in need, we are also supporting ourselves in this life and the next as it is mentioned in the Hadith of the prophet, peace be upon him, that 'whoever relieves a hardship of this life for a believer, Allah will relieve a hardship of the Day of Resurrection for him.' We never know when are we going to face hardship and who will stand by us. May be by helping others, Allah will provide the help for us in a way that we have never anticipated. Finally, Dr. Al-Timimi is a person who combined between strong Islamic knowledge based on Quran and Sunnah from one side and modern sciences and Western Philosophies from other side. He has the ability to explain Islam to people who have grown up in the West. He has delivered hundreds of Islamic lectures and workshops locally and around the world. Thousands of people have benefited from his preaching.
