Question, if wishing someone happy birthday on this board is not bidah, how come we only wish jannah happy birthday every year and no one else? Not wanting to do something 'wrong', I avoided sending my congratulations. However, I was contemplating your birth and how much you have made a difference to so many people. | slm, awww man cut it out ur gonna make me close this thread or something sometimes i wonder about why i was born and what my role is in the world.. doesn't everyone? but i think that Allah definitely guided me and gave me soo many opportunities so alhamdulillah maybe we can have a running birthday thread but i'm sure ppl would think that's a bidah too.. i always try to put bhaloo's b-day in my yahoo calendar but then it always gets messed up so now i don't know what it is again!! anyways its aiite.. we can have a general happy year at the beginning of the islamic new year and wish everyone very happy b-days :) |

| I have got nothing against the Islamic calendar but it won't be the same! Besides we will miss all the fun of heaping praise or making fun of someone on their birthday the way we do on jannah's! It was the first year of the last decade of the fourteenth century. And in conclusion, when exactly IS 'Islam the eternal path to peace' website's B-Day? | [slm] I saw on this Website (Message Board) where everyone who signed up for the board wrote their birthdays. So every day at the bottom of the main page was a box titled 'Todays birthdays' and listed a number of names. You could do that too, and everyone who thinks it's a bid'a does not have to list a date in their profile. [slm] |

| slm, yes i believe there is a mod for that somewhere on yabb..i'll check it out and see if it's doable... u know what would be cool too is like a On this day... script and we could put in like interesting islamic dates like of battles or historical things... |
