| This is a post from Hadeer.com I don't think this is limited to Nigeria. I thought the matter is serious enough to bring here. [quote]Assallam alaikum warahmatullah There is a study circle for sisters that i frequent in the weekends.On my last visit,I came upon a fact that devasted me.I knew of it beforehand but i never exert much seriousness on it thinking it was not a top priority.But to my dismay it was and it is burgeoning at an alarming rate,the most agonizing of it allis that we can only do little or nothing at all to put a stop to it.My heart is bleeding i turn to Allah to help us and then to you all. We the muslims ummah of Nigeria had disposed ourselves of our responsibilities and duties,amidst it our enemies took the advantage of the situation.They'd begun to destroy all the fruits of labour that islam had establish with the sweat and blood of our fathers.This calamity that has befallen us is none but the activities of the christian missionaries in the Northern nigeria where the largest concentration of muslims are found,Converting large numbers into christianity,mostly those found in the rural regions. Nigeria is the 6th largest oil producing country in the world also enriched with large source of mineral deposits,this is part reason why it is referred to "The giant of africa."Even though the country is very rich,Large numbers of its ppl are still facing the traumas of abject poverty.You can ask "where does the money go?"Unfortunately for us we have been saddled with long chains of the most corrupt government,All they've been doing is plundering our wealth into their pockets and benefitting us with nothing. In those rural areas you'll find muslims living in a very pathetic and harsh conditions such as:food shortage,dirty and infeected water,poor clothings,shabby shelters,not to talk of schools, hospitals,electricity and so on.The most shameful of it all is that we the muslims population are the most richest in the country and couldnt care to render them aid,indeedwe've shamed ourselves.In the end due to their vulnerability they fell as prey to these missionaries.,The methods they apply in making these ppl accept is indeed very attractive becoz they employ a very profiting measures.They visit wher these muslims reside,they'll live,eat,talk with them,understand and feel their pain at the same time propagating christianity,telling that if they convert ameans of support will be provided for them be it;food,shelter,education,a means of earning a living and so on.Most of the muslims you'll find are just one by name and so it wouldnt be tough work to have them convert.The few that have the little iman hesitate at first but finally succumb due to the persistance of their worsening situation.And it goes,Where once stood a muslim community had now been converted to a christian one,after every two huts you'l find a church. My brothers and sisters it does not stop here,this is just a piece.You cannot imagine how absolutely resolved these ppl are to attain their desired goal and they believe nothing can stop their activities.They able to do all this becoz they are well funded mostly from a foriegn source. However,my sisters and I have decided to take a course of action,its we get something going.We will start by raising an awareness,raise money to fund ppl who are willing to go over,but i dont know if we could raise as much,these days ppl never want to part with money.We are also required to contact ppl,organizations etc who will be willing to come and help or offer any kind of assisstance fee sabilillah. So i'm here before you my heart full grief and sadness imploring for your help.What use brotherhood is if we cannot help one another in a time of need for the sake of The Creator,if I may ask?Jannah is no easy task without making some sacrifice that are required of us.Any kind of your assisstance will be highly welcomed by us be it;prayers,advice,funds,or by helping to spread this message across etc.So send this forth and help before these enemies get the better of us.
