So little sister is getting married (on a budget may I add). I'm sorting out the reception, mehndi and nikah (OK hubby's doing the last).
But what exactly does one put in a wedding favour. Please note I hate sugar'd almonds bleuchhhh chocolate's are good but it may be limiting as many aunty's do not like the stuff.... So any ideas, and also how does one present a wedding favour, net pouch thing (or is that tacky) ickle box thing (is that expensive?)???? Should I forget it and just get one with everything else, or would that attitude ruin the wedding?????

All help much appreciated.

as salaamu alaykum,

mabrook to your sister and your family!  may Allah grant you patience during this stressful planning time and bless your family with lots of happiness in the future :)

I like pouches :)  at my wedding we had gold-colored ones, that had little beads on the end.  and we had lots and lots of chocolate inside :-D  I ordered them from the internet, because they were a lot cheaper online than at the local craft stores..

hmm, if you don't want chocolate, how about.. hm.. I'm not sure what they're called.. but the candy that looks like cough drops?  like werthers?  you can do a mix of a few different kinds if you want..

or you can do something totally different: a CD with Quran or nasheed?  or how about a frame?

At a lot of Arab weddings I've attended, they give out these pretty little ceramic boxes (almost like small jewelry boxes, with roses and stuff on the top) with the names of the bride and groom on ribbon.  I think they're usually gotten from 'back home' (Egypt, Jordan, etc)

Insha'Allah, you'll come up with something creative :)  the real challenge with wedding favors is putting them together!

I think you mean pear drops. My other sister has found a supply of cheap(ish) boxes, but I think you may be right the pouches may be a better alternative.... We're suprising my youngest sister hope she likes them.
Jazakhallah
