PMS mood swings into pregnancy mood swings...

It was sooo funny and interesting to read the pms thread, then it reminded me of myself as i am now. Forget having to cope with a few days each month lets talk about what men (incl my poor poor, yet loving husband ;)) have to go through when the cycle is broken.

Alhamdulillah i'm expecting my first. Obviously the whole family is overjoyed. But this joy is accompanied by TREMENDOUS mood swings- i can see outside myself and feel so sorry for my husband who is on the recieving end.....

it would be interesting to hear of similar stories....both from brothers and sisters......

assalaamu alaikum

I was visiting a good friend recently, and alhumdulillah he and his wife are expecting their first child. When i asked him how he was coping with the changes in his wife's moods... he just put his hand up and said "brother, i'm not going to describe it. I'll just wait and let you find out for yourself." lol

LOL!

I think thats one of the most compact ways of describing the reality of it. I wish your friends the very best Inshallah.

I find that some of the sisters are rather overplaying the feelings they have when pregnant. They seem to look for more attention from their husbands and sometimes maybe unintentionaly are overburdening them with non existent difficulties. I know that pregnancy is heavy(as I had been pregnant twise) and you may become easily tired or not feel well all the time, but I think some of the women just push it too far.
Anyway this is just my opinion and you are free to disagree.

I agree with Ameera, I've known a few women who try to
milk it for what it's worth.
I did not have mood swings (that I remember)
Maybe I just had easy pregnacies.

Is this really an issue for some women?

ok mashallah it appears you ladies seemed to be the lucky ones. This is my first therefore have had no previous training in seeing how much i can push my hubby- the worst is that my hubby used to pay me just as much attention before too- so its not for attention sake, not in my case. I knw patience is a virtue, so i try many a time to bite my lip and remain silent shud anything awful get unleashed! ;)

this is just my experience. I guess some women can overplay- i have come across some that dont lift a finger...tut tut! but we all not the same eh?

I surtenly didn't mean you, sister Imaan, as I don't know you. I was speaking generaly about women, which behavier I had encountered. But there are women and you are probably one of them, that even they feel pain or are tired, they try to act cheerful for the sake of their loved ones.
