It was really pleasant surprise that how much the board members are interested and keen to read matrimonial ads. But just wondering is it just matter of TIMEPASS to read those ads or there is some other reason too? |

| wlm, its always good fun to read them... seriously when we used to get together for fun we'd read them and get alot of humor from them... its also a sad testimony of our ummah at times (ie the obsession with 'whiteness')... but occassionally theres a normal person that re-instates our faith in humanity ;) so it's all good... |

| [slm] i cannot pass without saying that at first my reaction was :o oh, my God; are these young muslims gonna sit around laughing at unfortunate brothers & sisters, then it occured to me that somewhere, someone must have seen this stuff before it was published- I mean when I submit any profile they always note that it will be approved by admin staff. Perhaps, the staff speak English much like those submitting the ads-- all the more reason for sticking with the "mother-tongue". At any rate I went ahead and read afew and could have stopped myself, had it not been for our brother's commentary! I started laughing, nearly fell off my chair,yelled and startled my mailman who was leaving mail in the box next to my window! So I say thanks for my introduction--this is my 1st day in the Madinah :-[ :-) Muqitah p.s. I'm 55 and have arthritis, don't make me fall off my chair! |
