Embarrassing Moments

Okay I was totally inspired by sr. Trustworthy...and I think we should have a thread on embarrassing moments.  I know we've all had them...don't be shy now :)

Here's one (and I have plenty more):

So this was in university, I was going insane with the work load of Hell Week (the week of midterms+term papers).  And during this time, I bumped into a friend of mine on campus.  So she says, "Sarah, Sarah...wait up.  I want to introduce you to a friend of mine.  Sarah this is Anastasia.  Anastasia this is Sarah.."

I look at the friend, stick my hand out and say...

"Hi, I'm Anastasia."

HAHAHAHAHAHA.  The poor girl tried to hold it, but she just started laughing and goes "Okay then, I guess that would make me Sarah."

So embarrassing :(

Wasalaam.

I thought we had a thread on this a long time ago?  ???

Once I remember I went to a fast food drive thru.  I paid them and drove off without getting the food I ordered.  I drove back and went in.  There were about 10 employees there and they looked at me and one said, oh your the guy that did the drive by.   :D

What's this "Embarrassing" you talk about? 'tis really alien to me. Is it something related to sushi  ??? :P

Well on a real note, At the MCA there are a whole bunch of hallways. I was walking fast down one, one day, and when I reached an intersection almost barged into a bunch of sisters. They emmited these squeals and these alien sounds that they typically emit. Heh atleast it's not as bad as one bro I know who actually did barge into one. Or rather I suspect he did. I was right behind the guy and then next thing I know he was walking away fast past a doorway, and at the doorway there was this Sister open mouthed in shock, and a few others giggling. I was like  ??? Whats goin on.

Sabri's had more embarassing experiences though []

Okay...you're right...I just had deja vu, we've done this before.  But it's fun anyway.

Here's one that happened yesterday:

My cellphone rings, and the name of the person who is calling me comes up.  Good friend.  So I answer the phone screaming.  "OMG OMG OMG" or something.

Well turns out it was my friend's father, wanting to speak to my dad.

SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO EMBARRASSING.

Wasalaam.

But Muslimah, the concept of pink for girls and blue for boys does not hold true for desi's.
I took my daughter to India last year, she was 10 months old at the time.
There I was sitting on the porch swing, with my little girl (who was incidentally dressed head to toe in pink), the child was wearing a dress btw. Along comes a neighbour and tells me, 'you have a beautfiul baby boy :o What's his name...???
To which I reply (with a straight face), Fatima Az-Zohra....
The neighbour told me to go and get Fatima's ears pierced so people would know she was a girl!!! Tis a desi quirk. ;)

brothers and sisters, this is ONE of my MANY embarrassing moments;

at school yrs ago i was walking in the middle of the school basketball courts with my two friends during lunchtime, so the whole school was witness

next thing u know, my two friends start squealing (as the brother pointed out females do ;)) and i ask 'what, what??' they replied: 'u have this HUGE bird dropping on the back of your hijab'

i ran to the sick bay and took off my hijab in the privacy of the room...true enough a huge green/white gunk was on the back of my hijab

i washed it off and at the end of lunch went back to class

i was sooo embarrassed!

This WOULD have been the most embarrassing moment of my recent years if it weren't for something--- I think it was a gift from Allah, that stopped me.  The president of the board that runs my work was there, and I was coming down the stairs and glanced outside and saw his new car parked out there.  I was ABOUT to say to my friend-from a distance so would have been pretty loud "Hey, so-and-so (his last name with no Mr or anything) got a new C5".  I got to the bottom of tha stairs and there he was.  I don't know what it was that stopped me from saying it, but I always thank Allah for not having put me through that!

However I have plenty of other embarrassing moments on a daily basis, like the time my really chique neighbor stopped to chat while I was basically wiping off my whole car, which was very dirty, with like 4 or 5 peices of kleenex.  ::)  Next time she saw me I was cleaning the trash from inside my car (it gets pretty messy because of Abdullah)
Ok I think I've said enough
