Hi i have been following the mood swings post during pregnancy and pms. i want
to start a related discussion; weight gain after child birth.

After my child was born, i managed to lose most of the weight ganied during preganancy,
apart from my waist, my husband doesnt like it, says you have to get rid of it. i have
tried so many exercises and diets but it just wont budge nethier will he. he is supportive
but sometimes insensitive. i do feel so guilty because i know he doesnt like it all, i do
want him to be happy but when he gets me mad i just eat chocolate. do any sisters have
advice how i can get rid of that extra bit....or is it part of me now.

How long has it been since you had your little one Sr??? It takes 9 months for your waistline to expand and realistically it will take a while to return to your pre-pregnacy figure. Although ones hips are never really the same again.....

Your Husband sounds rather insensitive, your body has gone through a lot, what does he think you are, an elastic band to ping back into shape immeditately after being so brutally stretched?
Sit your husband down (preferably on his day off work), and explain that his words hurt your feelings, and only serve to make you feel worse which leads you to comfort eat. Tell him you love him, you want your figure back (which woman wouldn't), you want him to find you attractive and you want to feel healthy. However, instead of criticism, tell him you need his help in devising a healthy eating and excersise regime.

Factors you may want to consider before dieting; [*] Are you Breastfeeding? If yes you may want to hold off on the diet till baby is weaned, but do try to eat healthily. [*] Can you get to a gym, which offers post partum excersise classes? It helps if you're in a class full of women in the same boat [*] If you have had the baby in the last six weeks or less, forget excersise until your doctor signs you off, you need to wait untill your stomach muscles have gone back together before doing certain abdominal excersises, otherwise you may end up doing yourself some damage. [*] Meantime invest in good control underwear, you know the kind that hold your stomach in. It might help you feel better till you can do something about it.
